Here's How EXO Chanyeol Was Accused of 'Threatening' Influencer, SM Responds
EXO Chanyeol, who is currently serving in the military, gets embroiled in another controversy after he allegedly threatened a female biker. SM Entertainment has since released a statement.
But what exactly happened?
Female Biker Narrates Rude Encounter With Idol + How People Concluded It's Chanyeol
In particular, the issue started after the April 26th episode of Channel S's entertainment program, "Real Granny."
During the show, A, a female influencer and biker, claimed she suffered damage after a famous idol threatened her through verbal abuse.
She said:
"I was riding on my small scooter and a large foreign car is intentionally driving like threatening me. So I tried to avoid it, but he cursed at me."
She continued:
"I was chasing him to get his car's number and when the car stopped at the traffic light, I knocked on the window to ask why he cursed. But he covered his face with his hood (hoodie) and kept swearing with his fingers. It turned out that he's a very famous idol. I think I could be buried the moment his name comes out of my mouth."

Following the broadcast, viewers showed interest in the case and found out that the situation was posted on A's YouTube channel, and a video was even posted in March.
In the clip, the scene of the other driver swearing at A with his finger while covering his face with clothes was shown. However, it is not possible to check the face through the video.
The only clue is only from the YouTube video and the influencer who claimed he's "one of the most famous idols in Korea." The YouTuber also cited the shape of his hand, vehicle model, pet dog, and tattoo location as hints.
Although A didn't mention any name, some left comments that the idol member could be EXO Chanyeol.
SM Entertainment Releases Statement, Channel S to Edit Episode
In response, SM Entertainment strongly and immediately refuted allegations that Chanyeol threatened a female biker.
On April 27, the idol's agency relayed to the media:
"The person in the video is not Chanyeol, and the vehicle is different from Chanyeol's own vehicle. We will take a hard-line response to the spread of false information."
Channel S' "Real Granny" also announced its official position.
"The production team conducted a fact-check with the cast. We confirmed that there were related issues, but we could not confirm who the opponent was according to the performer's will. The contents will be edited."
