Recently on June 7, BTS' youngest member Jungkook took to Naver V LIVE to hold a live broadcast to spend time and have a chat with ARMYs (BTS fandom). During this broadcast, Jungkook was also spending time with BTS' management team as they went out camping.
The "Permission to Dance" singer talked about numerous things while relaxing by a campfire during the live broadcast, such as his workout routine, his past hairstyles, his future plans, and more.

In particular, he touched on the topic of making guest appearances on variety shows, which ARMYs know is a very rare occurrence for BTS, as the group only appears on select shows from time to time, especially as they have their own variety show called "Run BTS!"
In fact, it is such a rarity to see BTS on variety shows, that RM and Jungkook are the only members who have been on shows on their own, with the BTS leader being a regular cast member on tvN's "Problematic Men" for 21 episodes back in 2015.
Jungkook joined the SBS travel-reality show "Flower Crew" in 2016, but subsequently left the show. However, Jungkook's sudden departure from "Flower Crew" was riddled with issues.

During his time on the show, numerous fans heavily criticized cast members Jo Se Ho and Seo Jang Hoon for their treatment towards Jungkook and actor Kim Min Suk, who also left the show at the same time as the idol.
While Jo Se Ho and Seo Jang Hoon officially apologized for their behavior, fans believe that this was a significant issue that caused the members to altogether refrain from appearing on variety shows, more so individually.

Now in 2022, Jungkook finally revealed why he hasn't appeared on any variety shows, aside from "Run BTS!," since then.
During his live broadcast, Jungkook wondered if he would be able to a good job on variety shows, and shared that he doesn't think he is able to go on shows on his own.
The reason? He is shy!
While he has gradually come out of his shell and become more open in the past years, Jungkook is still a fairly shy person without his fellow BTS members.

"I'm okay with 'Run BTS!' because I feel comfortable with our members and all. But I don't think I'd be able to go on an entertainment show by myself. I get really shy," Jungkook said.
So unless all of the BTS members appear on a show together, it is unlikely to see Jungkook in any show in the near future!
