7 K-pop Idols Who Rejected Other Companies for Their Current One

Korean entertainment companies are always looking for people who could potentially be their trainees and, eventually, artists under their label. Company representatives try to entice them to join their company through offers by scouting potential trainees through the streets or even in bathrooms. However, not all offers are enough to get them willing to join!

With that, here are seven K-Pop idols who rejected other companies' offers for their current one!

1. Girls' Generation Tiffany

Girls' Generation member Tiffany's whole aesthetic just screams "pink." So, of course, her reason for joining SM Entertainment was due to the color. Before joining her current company, Tiffany had received numerous business cards from other companies.

However, she rejected all of them and chose SM Entertainment simply because their business card and official color were pink!

2. TXT Taehyun

Before he debuted as a member of TXT, Taehyun reportedly got scouted by more than a dozen companies. Despite having quite a lot of companies to choose from to become a trainee in, he ended up joining HYBE (formerly Big Hit Entertainment) instead. His reason? It was the closest to his house!

3. BTS Jungkook

Another HYBE artist who received offers from around seven companies is BTS's youngest member, Jungkook!

The "Golden Maknae" is well-versed in various fields such as singing, dancing, rapping, producing, athletics, and much more, so it's not a surprise that many try to scout him as their trainee. But Jungkook decided to sign with his current label instead because RM, his idol, was there!

4. BLACKPINK Jisoo

BLACKPINK member Jisoo was already a trainee under YG Entertainment, but that didn't stop her from receiving offers from other companies!

According to Jisoo, she attended a YG Family concert while she was a trainee when she was approached by SM Entertainment's scouts, asking her if she wanted to be a celebrity.

Jisoo, unsurprisingly, rejected the offer and told them she already had a company.

5. TWICE Dahyun

TWICE's resident "Dubu" Dahyun received offers from three of the Big 4 companies, and several other companies outside of that. In fact, she even received offers to become an actress. However, Dahyun decided to join JYP Entertainment instead, as they were the first to scout her.

6. EXO Sehun

Before EXO Sehun signed with SM Entertainment, he actually rejected the company several times!

Sehun was only an elementary school student at the time when an SM Entertainment casting agent tried recruiting him. He initially rejected the offer because he thought they were a scammer and even ran away for 30 minutes with the agent on his tail. Finally, after much persuasion, he agreed to become a trainee.

7. CL

Before debuting as a member of 2NE1 under YG Entertainment, CL was actually already a trainee under JYP Entertainment, where she even had singing and dancing lessons with the members of 2AM. But in the middle of her training with the company, she decided to move to YG Entertainment as Teddy Park, who she is a fan of, is the company's main producer. Currently, CL is no longer with YG Entertainment.

Do you think these K-pop idols chose the right company?
