Every comeback, K-pop artists are always striving to hit a new milestone and break a new record with their music releases. One of the things that groups and solo artists alike hope for is to achieve incredible sales with their albums and digital releases. While it is not an easy feat, there are those who have managed to achieve more than 100,000 album sales in just the first week of its release.

With that, here are the girl groups that have achieved more than 100,000 sales in album copies in just one week!

BLACKPINK is the No. 1 Girl Group With Highest First Week Album Sales Over 100,000

As of June 2022, YG Entertainment's four-piece group BLACKPINK is currently the girl group with the highest amount in terms of first week sales with over 100,000 album copies.

Back on October 6, 2020, BLACKPINK dropped their first studio album "THE ALBUM," which recorded more than 689,000 album copies sold in its first week of release.

With such a sales figure, "THE ALBUM" broke the record for first week sales on Hanteo Chart among all of the girl groups. In fact, BLACKPINK had reportedly sold more than 590,000 copies for "THE ALBUM" just one day after its physical release.

"THE ALBUM" is BLACKPINK's first and only full-length album since their debut back in August 2016. It contains a total of eight tracks, including their collaboration with Cardi B for "Bet You Wanna" and with Selena Gomez for "Ice Cream."

"THE ALBUM" also became the best-selling album by a girl group in K-Pop history, raking in more than 1.5 million album copies sold and receiving a million certification by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA).

Red Velvet is the No. 2 Girl Group With Highest First Week Album Sales Over 100,000

The girl group with the second highest first week album sales is Red Velvet and their fifth mini album "The ReVe Festival 2022 - Feel My Rhythm."

"The ReVe Festival 2022 - Feel My Rhythm," which was released on March 21, 2022, reportedly sold more than 443,900 album copies in the first week following its release.

The album features a total of six tracks, including its title track "Feel My Rhythm," and songs "Rainbow Halo," "Beg For Me," "Bamboleo," "Good, Bad, Ugly," and "In My Dreams."

"The ReVe Festival 2022 - Feel My Rhythm" also became Red Velvet's best-selling physical release in their career, having recorded more than 653,600 album copies sold on Gaon Chart as of April 2022. It also earned the group a double platinum certification for surpassing 500,000 copies sold.
