EXO Baekhyun Spotted at Café, But Why is He Earning Mixed Reactions?
On July 14, EXO Baekhyun became a hot topic in various online communities. This is after multiple eyewitnesses claimed they saw Baekhyun at a café. They wrote online:
- "I saw Baekhyun at a Bagel Café today."
- "It looks exactly like Baekhyun, but I thought it wasn't because his hair was bleached. But I guess I was right because someone who looked like Kang In came. We made eye contact because I was looking at him. I am sorry for staring at you."
The photo showed Baekhyun with bleached hair while wearing a black hat.
Later on, another online user "B" said on their blog:
"I went to a sushi café and saw someone who looked like Baekhyun and Kang In. It was an unusual combination, but I recognized it right away."
No authentication photos related to fellow celebrities were posted.
However, despite unconfirmed eyewitness accounts, some poured out malicious comments against Baekhyun, saying:
- "It would be shocking if it was with Kang In."
- "Baekhyun is EXO's biggest embarrassment."
- "He's sick (related to being a public service worker) but he's hanging out with a cr*minal?"
The reason people are raising their brows was because of the past reputation of the latter. Kang In, who initially rose into popularity as a Super Junior member, left the group in 2019 following cases of assault and DUI hit-and-run incidents in 2009, 2016 and 2017.
EXO-Ls Defend Baekhyun
Amid the growing accusations and malicious comments, EXO-Ls claimed that Baekhyun actually went out not with Kang In, but with his best friend and idol choreographer Kasper.
The friendship between the two is popular among fans after Kasper established a friendship with Baekhyun by playing in dance teams, such as in EXO and sub-unit EXO-CBX. Both are '92-liners, and are popular as best friends of the same age.
Additionally, the original author of the blog clarified that their post was actually stolen without permission and were being posted for wrong context. Further, it was said it wasn't a sushi café but a bagel café.
More eyewitnesses came out and also stated that Baekhyun wasn't with the former SuJu member, but with a personal friend who just happened to resemble the latter.
On top of this, EXO-Ls also emphasized that there's no solid proof showing that the "Bambi" singer indeed went out with him.
EXO Baekhyun
EXO Baekhyun joined the army in May last year and is serving as a social service worker. He was diagnosed with grade 4 due to hypothyroidism, and the discharge day is scheduled for February 5, 2023.
