Who is SEVENTEEN Wonwoo?
Wonwoo, born Jeon Wonwoo, is a South Korean singer and a member of Pledis Entertainment's 13-member boy group SEVENTEEN. Wonwoo officially made his debut as the group's lead rapper on May 26, 2015, with their debut single "Adore You" from their first mini album, "17 Carat."
Wonwoo was able to join to Pledis Entertainment after passing the company's audition. He trained under the company for four years, and was able to make the final lineup of group. As the group's lead rapper, Wonwoo is also part of SEVENTEEN's hip-hop team.

Before making his debut with SEVENTEEN, Wonwoo appeared in the music videos for Hello Venus' "Venus," After School Blue's "Wonder Boy," NU'EST's "Face," and Orange Caramel's "My Copycat." The latter three were also artists under Pledis Entertainment at the time.

For Wonwoo, his "Won" means "round," while "Woo" means "help," "aid," or "assist." Putting them together, Wonwoo's name would mean "live by helping people with a rounded heart."

4. Wonwoo suffers from xerophthalmia.

Wonwoo, like many people, suffers from poor vision, forcing him to wear prescription eyeglasses or contact lenses to see clearly. Aside from that, Wonwoo also suffers from xerophthalmia, as revealed by him on Episode 4 of "One Fine Day." Xerophthalmia is a disease that causes dry eyes due to a vitamin A deficiency. If left untreated, it can cause damage or progress into blindness or eye spots.
