Recently, "Stay the Night" singer and former I.O.I member Chung Ha made a guest appearance on the August 7 broadcast of SBS' popular variety show "My Little Old Boy," where she appeared as a special MC.
During this episode, Chung Ha talked about her duty as a daughter, and revealed that she was finally able to pay off the money she owes and even buy new things for her mother.
"Realistically, I had paid off [my] debts. I also bought a small house and bought a new car for my mother," Chung Ha shared, adding that this has been the happiest thing she has done lately.

Chung Ha also shared that she gifted her mother a new album with a certain song for her, especially after all the things her mother has done and sacrificed for her while living outside of South Korea.
"There is a song on the album that I gave my mother as a gift. My mother had raised me alone in the United States, and I think she felt sorry for me because I had to go to school alone. Just thinking about that time brings tears to my eyes," Chung Ha said.
Chung Ha was then asked what was the most disappointing thing she did to her mother, to which the idol responded by saying it was when she was pursuing a career as a singer years ago. Chung Ha said, "She didn't think that I would get a job in dancing and singing."

In the K-pop industry, it is quite common among idols for their parents to express worry over their career choice, as there is no guarantee that a trainee would be able to make their debut despite how long they have been practicing to become an idol. Thus, Chung Ha's mother's worries is justified, given the competitive industry.
Chung Ha added, "My mother had a hard time putting me through school in the United States. But she must have had a mental breakdown when I told her I wanted to dance."
Years later, Chung Ha was able to successfully make her debut as a solo artist in the industry. Since then, she has been regarded as one of the top solo performers, for not only her amazing vocals, but also her outstanding dance skills!

Meanwhile, Chung Ha recently made her comeback back on July 11 with the first part of her second studio album "Bare & Rare" under her labels MNH Entertainment and 88rising.
The album features a total of eight tracks as of now, led by the single "Sparkling." Other songs in her album include "XXXX," "Louder," "Crazy Like You," "California Dream," "Good Night My Princess," "Love Me Out Loud," and "Nuh-Uh."
