8 K-pop Debut Songs That Hit #1 on Real-Time And/Or Daily Korean Music Charts

Whenever a new K-pop group is about to debut, fans are not only excited to meet the upcoming idols but they also anticipate their first title track. However, not all K-pop debut songs earn much attention from Korean fans; hence, some fail to reach the top of domestic charts.

But our list below consists of eight K-pop debut songs that all hit No. 1 on real-time and/or daily Korean music charts, which is not that easy. Read on to know what songs they are!

8 K-pop Debut Songs That Hit #1 on Real-Time And/Or Daily Korean Music Charts

2NE1 - "Fire"

The first one on our list is the legendary debut song by 2NE1, "Fire." It was released digitally on May 6, 2009 and serves as the title track for the girl group's self-titled debut EP (which came out on July 8).

2NE1's "Fire" gained instant popularity in South Korea, topping all domestic music charts, both real-time and daily. The song even earned the group two music show trophies, both on SBS's "Inkigayo."

miss A - "Bad Girl Good Girl"

miss A's "Bad Girl Good Girl" is another K-pop girl group debut song that immediately became a hit in South Korea. Dropped on July 1, 2010, "Bad Girl Good Girl" achieved an all-kill on Korean music charts (like Soribada, Bugs, Hanteo, Monkey3, etc.) just five days later.

Not only that, "Bad Girl Good Girl" also won several major awards at different award ceremonies in the country, making miss A's debut a memorable one.

WINNER - "Empty"

Following the footsteps of 2NE1 is WINNER, who made their debut on Aug. 12, 2014 with double title songs "Empty" and "Color Ring."

But between these two, "Empty" gained the most attention. In fact. It ranked first on nine domestic charts (such as MelOn, Genie, Bugs, Olleh Music, Naver music, etc.) shortly after its release.

iKON - "MY TYPE"

Another YG boy group on our list is iKON, who debuted Sept. 15, 2015 with the title track "MY TYPE." The song achieved an all-kill on major music charts just eight hours after its release.

It went on to maintain its position at No. 1 for six consecutive days on real-time charts of MelOn, Bugs, Soribada, Olleh Music, Genie, and Naver Music.

BLACKPINK - "Whistle"

After iKON, their junior group BLACKPINK was the next K-pop artist to hit the No. 1 spot on both real-time and daily Korean music charts with their debut song "Whistle," which was released on Aug. 8, 2016. "Whistle" took first place on Genie, Mnet Music, Olleh, Bugs, and Naver Music. What's more, "Whistle" scored a real-time all-kill just four hours after its release.

WANNA ONE "Energetic"

WANNA ONE's "Energetic" also found its way on top of domestic charts shortly after it dropped on Aug. 7, 2017. "Energetic" also obtained a real-time all-kill at 7 p.m. KST, just one hour after the group's debut album arrived. The track also hit No. 1 on a few daily charts, such as Bugs, Naver and Soribada.

X1 - "Flash"

Although X1 didn't last long compared to the other "Produce" K-pop groups, their debut was still notable.

NewJeans - "Attention"

Finally, "Attention" by NewJeans is the latest K-pop debut song to reach No. 1 on real-time and/or daily Korean music charts. Notably, it is the first K-pop girl group debut song in six years since BLACKPINK's "Whistle" to reach No. 1 on MelOn's daily chart.

On Aug. 11, "Attention" achieved its first-ever real-time all-kill after topping MelOn, Genie, Bugs, and FLO. It also topped the daily charts of Bugs, Genie, VIBE, and MelOn on Aug. 12 at 5 p.m. KST.
