On Aug. 25, KCON took to its social media accounts to reveal the venue and dates of its upcoming shows in Japan, as well as the first lineup of performers.

According to the uploaded YouTube video, KCON 2022 Japan will take place for three consecutive days, from Oct. 14 to 16, at Ariake Arena in Tokyo. And the three events will feature performances of soloists and idol groups, most of which are part of K-pop's fourth generation.

In particular, performers on Day 1 (Oct. 14) are MONSTA X Kihyun, LE SSERAFIM, NMIXX, and TNX. Performing artists on Day 2 (Oct. 15) are IVE, JO1, and NewJeans, while on Day 3 (Oct. 16) are Jo Yuri, Kep1er, NiziU, and TEMPEST.

The upcoming KCON 2022 Japan will mark the first time several fourth-generation rookies- such as IVE, LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, Kep1er, TNX, and TEMPEST- will greet their Japanese fans in person.
IVE has gained an overwhelming popularity in Japan starting from their debut with "ELEVEN" in December of last year. This year, they continued to release songs that became instant hits, such as "LOVE DIVE" and "After LIKE."

LE SSERAFIM also caught the attention of Japanese fans with their debut song "FEARLESS." For the week ending on Aug. 17, the quintet rose to No. 78. "FEARLESS" ranked 74th on Billboard Japan Hot 100 for the week ending on Aug. 20.

HYBE's other new girl group New Jeans, who achieved an all-kill on major Korean music charts with "Attention" and won four music show trophies, captivated Japanese fans as soon as they were launched. They debuted at No. 73 on Billboard Japan Artist 100 for the week ending on Aug. 10. Their self-titled EP also entered the Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart at No. 38 in the same week.

Kep1er, who includes Japanese members Hikaru Ezaki and Mashiro Sakamoto, also attained massive fame in Japan. In fact, Kep1er is the only third K-pop artist to surpass 100 million streams on Billboard Japan in history.

TEMPEST and TNX, both new K-pop boy groups, have also raised the anticipation of fans in the upcoming KCON 2022 Japan as these two showcased their incredible skills in singing and dancing at the time of their debut.
Kim Donghyun, head of CJ ENM's Music Content Division and Convention Live Business Division, said, "The first offline 'KCON 2022 LA' held in three years was a great achievement, attracing 7.17 million viewers from around the world, including 90,000 in-person and 7.08 million online."

"Following this enthusiasm, we will continue to Tokyo in the second half of the year, meet K-culture fans, and present a blueprint for K-culture with KINSHIP-centered content."

KCON 2022 US Tour Kicks Off
In other news, the KCON 2022 U.S. Tour has recently kicked off with a two-day show in San Francisco, from Aug. 22 and 23. It was followed by another two-day event in Minneapolis, from Aug. 24 to 25.

The tour will continue with shows in Houston on Aug. 26 and 27, Dallas on Aug. 27 and 28, Atlanta on Aug. 29 and 30, and New York on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.
