TC Candler Releases Explanation Surrounding Rumors
On August 23, TC Candler posted on their Twitter account an announcement about the rumors that it was BTS' leader Kim Namjoon or RM that has won the list of "100 Most Handsome Faces" for this year, 2022.
They stated that it is not true since the voting is still ongoing until further notice. They just released the list for 2021 in December.
The independent body has clarified that they do not release the final ranking until they have voted in December. They continued saying that if fans ever see a meme, news, posts, and stories about it, they should never share it and just ignore it.

Many K-pop fans have been nominating and voting for their idols in the beauty rankings ever since they knew about it. Many idols have actually been included in the list such as RM co-members V and Jungkook.
However, Namjoon has never reached the top 5, and neither did "Superman" actor Henry Cavill.
ARMYs Criticizes TC Candler's Late Actions
'The damage has been done' is the perfect phrase to summarize BTS fans' reaction to TC Candler's post. Fans have noted that it is not just memes and fake news peddlers that are spreading the misinformation about the BTS leader, but also some known media outlets have reported about it.
ARMYs are also saying that it has brought unwarranted racism, xenophobia, and criticism to the BTS leader without RM doing anything wrong. Since he is being bullied, they have defended the BTS leader from the negative posts and reactions of people who do not fully know Kim Namjoon.

A Twitter user commented on the post saying,
"Why a shit statement tbh. You all could have worded it better and clarified sooner. Do you realise how much harm has been brought to RM because you couldn't be arsed to clarify sooner. Either way, your competition sucks. Rating peoples looks is disgusting in every way."
News outlets like Mashable, Geo News, and The News have not removed their news articles about it. RM fans are worried that TC Candler's clarification is not enough and is not as widespread to stop the rumors from even spreading further and hurting the BTS leader's name.
As proof, even in TC Candler's clarification post, there are antis and BTS haters commenting on hate speech and posting xenophobic photos of the idol.
