Girl group music is dominating this year, especially the music from 4th generation girl groups. This 2022 has seen so many diverse releases. There are also many b-side tracks in the K-pop industry that deserve to be as famous as the title track.

fromis_9 "Rewind"

fromis_9 promotes their comeback on NOW.

First on the list is Pledis Entertainment's newly acquired girl group fromis_9. They released their 5th mini album "From Our Memento Box" with "Stay This Way" as their title track.

Included in the album is the song "Rewind" which is the total opposite of their promoted song. It has a bit of retro sound, with a dark feel and sultry vocals.

The song is so good that they performed it during their comeback on music shows.

The next song is from Cube Entertainment's girl group (G)I-dle. The song "Villain Dies" is from their "I Never Die" album which was released at the beginning of the year.

This is their first comeback after their main dancer, Soojin, left because of her bullying controversy. Their title track "Tomboy" went on to get many music show wins for the ladies.

However, "Villian Dies" is just as good of a song. The creepy, horror vibe that the girl group represents is very much present in the song.

Girls' Generation "Villain"

For the legendary girl group's 15th anniversary, they decided to come back and grace us with the catchy song "Forever 1" from their album with the same name.

Included in the b-side tracks is the total opposite of their promoted song, "Villain". The song is dark, and definitely shows the members' vocals' agility.

It was even said in one of Girls' Generation's interviews that this was of the contenders to be the title track. Further, the song is composed by one of their members, Tiffany, which makes it even greater.

IVE "My Satisfaction"

IVE ‘After LIKE’ Comeback Stage Draws Divided Reactions

IVE's recent comeback has soared to the top of Korean charts. With their 3rd single album, "After LIKE", "My Satisfaction" is the only other song in it.

Like the other songs on our list, this song shows a total and complete opposite of their promoted song. This one has a darker, deeper, and sexier sound.

Fans are loving the song as it showed the member's vocal abilities, especially Yujin's.

Dreamcatcher "Starlight"

Another song from the list that is totally different from their title track is Dreamcatcher's "Starlight" from their 2nd full album "Apocalypse: Save Us". released in April 2022, their album's title track is "Maison" which has a sound that is very distinct from the girl group.

On the other hand, "Starlight" has retro, slow jam vibes that are perfect to listen to when you are partying alone.

aespa "Lingo"

Another girl group from SM Entertainment that released an album this year is aespa. They had a pre-release English song "Life's Too Short" and then their title track "Girls" from the same name album that sold more than a million copies.

Now, included in our list is their b-side track "Lingo". This song is upbeat, preppy, and lively unlike their title track "Girls" which is more on the darker side.

This song definitely requires your attention if you haven't listened to it yet.
