Former fromis_9 Jang Gyuri Officially Signs With THIS Entertainment Agency

The former member of the Pledis girl group fromis_9 has officially signed with another company as an actress. Jang Gyuri signed an exclusive contract with JUST Entertainment, signalling her new career path.

JUST Entertainment, to which Gyuri Jang moved, was established in 2020 by experts with more than 10 years of experience in domestic management companies. It is home to various actors such as Yoon Kye Sang, Kim Shin Rok, and Seo Ji Hye.

On the morning of August 29, Jang Gyuri's greeting was revealed through Just Entertainment's Instagram. Jang Gyuri said:

"I am working with JUST Entertainment. I think we will meet in various ways as actors in the future. Please take care of me and look forward to it in the future."

Regarding the recruitment of Jang Gyuri, CEO Lee Chang Oh said he sees the potential of the former idol. As she is already known by the public for her past dramas, there is that familiar charm to her.

The CEO also said that he is looking forward to showing the other charms of Gyuri as an actress and helping her grow in her chosen field. 

He ended his statement by saying:

"As a reliable partner, actress Jang Gyuri, following her "Cheer Up", has been involved in various dramas, movies, and OTT. We will spare no effort to support her so that she can continue to be active on various platforms, so please look forward to and give interest in actress Jang Gyuri."

It is said that she wanted an agency that had a lot of experience in actor activities and had good communication with her in order to build a related career after deciding on her career as an actress.

Jang Gyuri's New Drama 'Cheer Up' 

The former fromis_9 member debuted as an actress in the web drama series "Dating Class" in 2019. Then, she gained recognition in 2020 through her second role in the famous tvN drama, starring Kim Soo Hyun, "It's Okay to Not Be Okay."

Recently, she was cast as Tae Cho Hee in the new SBS drama "Cheer Up" and is filming.

The new SBS show is set on a campus where the mystery of young people who gather in the cheering squad of a dying university after leaving their brilliant history behind will take place. It will premiere on October 3rd of this year.

Jang Gyuri As An Idol

Jang Gyuri made her debut as a fromis_9 member after placing ninth in MNET's survival variety show "Idol School" in 2017.

After that, she also joined another one of MNET's survival shows, "Produce 48" and did not make it into the final lineup. She came back with her group and continued performing and releasing albums with them.

However, just in July of this year, Jang Gyuri decided not to renew her contract with Pledis Entertainment and just finish her original contract with CJ E&M as a member of fromis_9.

It even made some rumors about the girl group having internal issues.
