EXO Baekhyun Spotted at Han River— What He Did Proves He's Real-Life Angel
On August 29, an article about EXO Baekhyun drew attention after a Twitter user told an anecdote about the idol, passed down by a family relative. The author narrated:
"One of my family relatives knows a basketball player whose wife met with them today. She (wife) said that the basketball player quit sports and now works on a business related to yachts at the Han River.
"But I heard that Baekhyun went to play with the director of a nearby orphanage (nursery). Turns out that Baekhyun has been secretly going there and doing volunteer work often."
As soon as the post went viral, netizens and K-pop fans immediately praised the "Bambi" singer, and people who saw this responded:
- "Baekhyun's personality is crazy."
- "Isn't he really crazy?"
- "He is an angel."
- "He's really light Baekhyun"
- "I hope he comes back (from the military) soon."

Meanwhile, the anecdote seems to refute the initial rumors about Baekhyun, criticizing him after he was spotted on a yacht, allegedly playing amid his military service.
Public officers like the male idol usually enjoy normal days off so it shouldn't matter whether what he does during his free time. However, some criticized the singer for allegedly taking advantage of him being a social service worker due to poor health only to play around.
But it turned out that, amid criticism, Baekhyun is silently doing good deeds along with the CEO of an orphanage, contrary to what haters originally spread.

This not not the first time Baekhyun was spotted doing volunteer works.
In 2014, it was known that Baekhyun did volunteer work at a children's center, "Lotte Sweethome Charity," in the Geumdangsil area of Yecheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do. He, together with co-EXO member Sehun at that time, put smiles on children's faces by singing along to songs, performing cute dances and more.
When it was publicized, Baekhyun said:
"I'm grateful for the time to do volunteer work and play with the children."
EXO has been known for doing volunteer work, particularly in nursing homes and welfare facilities for the disabled.
A decade after he established his career, Baekhyun's heart-warming attributes remain and he seems to have continued to do volunteer work even without informing the media.
On the other hand, Baekhyun who enlisted in May is expected to be discharged in February 2023.
