'Showterview' Episode 12: Sunmi Makes Seulgi Cry Because of THIS

During the "signature segment" of "Showterview" Episode 12, Sunmi and Red Velvet Seulgi's cheeks were side by side and the two were making jokes about it at first. Then, the mood suddenly got serious as the Red Velvet member gave her message to the "Noir" singer.

According to her, she finds Sunmi very comfortable to be with. She is also one of the reasons why Seulgi had the courage to pursue her solo debut as Sunmi always tells her she needs to try it to bring out her color as an artist.

To that, the "Siren" singer said:

"As soon as I met you, I felt how nice, sweet, and kind you are. That's why I reached out to you without hesitation. But one thing I want to say is, you always seem to hold your feelings in. Seeing you like this sometimes breaks my heart and makes me feel sad."

Seulgi starts tearing up in the middle of the message, and said, "Why do I feel like crying?" Sunmi's message must have hit her hard.

However, to make the atmosphere light again, Seulgi joked again which made everyone laugh.

Sunmi Wants to See Seulgi Solo Ever Since

In the same episode, the "Gashina" singer told Seulgi that she had always wanted to see her as a solo singer. Having her own distinct color and knowing what she wants, Seulgi deserves a solo album. Sunmi continued that it is one of the best things that SM Entertainment did this year. Seulgi just laughed at it looking really flattered at the statement.

Then, they continued the interview by doing all other kinds of activities like shucking snails because they were in a restaurant that serves snails as it was called "ddaseulgi" in Korean.

The two idols also talked about their childhood and elementary school days when Sunmi asked Seulgi if she was popular back then.

The "Monster" singer said that she had tons of friends, but sometimes, boys would play practical jokes on them like pulling their hair ties just to notice them.

In addition, they also talked about how Seulgi felt being a solo artist now. She said that she did not know she would still get nervous performing on stage as she has been doing it for the last eight years as a Red Velvet member.

She continued by saying it was hard to come up with a new concept that they have never done and is unique to her only.

Seulgi Recommends Self-Written Song

The "28 Reasons" singer suggested to Sunmi that she should listen to her first self-written song "Dead Man Running," after asking her what song she needed to listen to.

Seulgi continued by saying she never thought she would get to write lyrics because there are so many great lyricists.

She was picked after a blind test in SM Entertainment and she was super happy about it. Everything went smoothly and it was a great experience for her.
