6 K-pop Songs that Talk About Freedom

Freedom is a topic that not many songs possess. It is also a topic that many people can relate to. Whether it is freedom from yourself, other people, or the world in general, it will never fail to make people relate to it.

So here are six K-pop songs that talk about freedom in one way or another.

IKON 'Freedom'

The first song on our list is definitely about the topic as implied in the title. This IKON song discusses the freedom that kids want so that they can do things that adults are already doing. The members sing about craving for freedom and how that makes them a kid or a dog.

They want to be unstoppable and just continue doing what they want from that point on. "Freedom" also questions how making mistakes are only for the young.

Once you listen to this song and understand the meaning, you will agree to it and will also contemplate a kid's freedom.

BI 'Nineteen'

This time, it's only BI talking about freedom in his song "Nineteen". The track relays the singer's desire to be free all the time.

TWICE's "Girls Like Us" was written by one of the members - Jihyo. According to her, the song is about having the freedom to dream even though you are a woman and actually achieving that dream.

The TWICE leader wanted people to be energized and continue chasing their dreams after hearing the song. It is also about cheering other people on.

Luna 'Free Somebody'

The former f(x)'s member solo debut is another song that talks about one's freedom from kept and hidden feelings.

The lyrics discuss how someone wants to be free from their own shackles and restrictions and just play all night long. Letting go of oneself and having fun till the morning comes is definitely something many people could relate to.

As our society is a bit judgmental, many people cannot do freely what they want even though it is not a crime. With Luna's song, "Free Somebody", after listening to it, have the courage and freedom to try new things.

TXT 'Puma'

TXT's "Puma" is a song that is about freedom in general. Being free from the world, its expectations, and the people that chain you from doing the things you really like.

The song also discusses how a Puma from a zoo is freed only to realize that the outside world is too unfamiliar and hard to live with because it's always a race.

It compares their life, how being a trainee is too restrained and being a rookie is too hard because they need to survive and stand out in the sea of idols.

Moreover, having the freedom to choose what they really want and being happy with it is what the song portrays to the listeners.

ONF 'New World'

Another song from a rookie boy group ONF. "New World" is about how they want to go to a new world to have a freer life than before.
