Are you among the fans who religiously wait for the annual year-end music award rites? Sit calm, as the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards (frequently referred to as "2022 EMA) has announced on its official website the list of nominees for this year's award ceremony.

MTV Europe Music Awards is an award-giving body presented by Paramount International Networks that commits to acknowledging and recognizing artists and musicians in pop culture. This year's MTV EMA will be live on November 13, 2022, at PSD Bank Dome Düsseldorf, Germany.

The year 2022 nominees contain some sparkling and gigantic names in the K-pop landscape.

YG Entertainment's girl group pride, BLACKPINK, secures four categories' nominations, namely "Best Video" for "Pink Venom" and "The Virtual," "Best Metaverse Performance" for "The Virtual | PUBG," "Best K-pop" and "Biggest Fans."

The four-member girl group will contend with Harry Style's "As It Was," Taylor Swift's "All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version)," Kendrick Lamar's "The Heart Part 5," Nicki Minaj's "Super Freaky Girl," and Doja Cat's "Woman" for the "Best Video" Category.

Being a familiar name in MTV EMA for winning four awards in years 2020 and 2021, BTS again appears as a nominee this 2022 for "Best K-pop," "Biggest Fans," and "Best Metaverse Performance" for BTS | Minecraft."

BTS's fellow HYBE artists SEVENTEEN and Tomorrow X Together are also nominated. For the first-time nominee, SEVENTEEN, the synchronization powerhouse group bagged three nominations, particularly - Best K-pop, Best New Act, and Best Push Artist.

Meanwhile, TXT, one of the gems from HYBE Labels, is also competing for Best K-pop. Additionally, TXT is chosen to be the Korean representative for Best Asia Act. Labelmates TWICE and ITZY and BLACKPINK's Lisa complete the list for the Best K-pop nominees.

The nominations of BLACKPINK, ITZY, TWICE, BTS, TXT, and Seventeen in 2022 MTV EMA solidify how influential K-pop is in Asia and abroad. International award-winning bodies that feature K-pop idols as nominees are a channel to showcase, recognize, and promote this generation of icons who embody nothing but love for pop culture and music.

According to reports, the public could start casting their votes for the 17 categories such as Best Song, Best Artist, Best Collaboration, and the two new categories starting October 12, 2022 (C.E.T.).

Fans are given until November 9, 2022, at 11:59 PM (C.E.T.) to show their support to their favorite artists who are campaigning for a 2022 MTV EMA title.
