When K-pop idols debut, we would usually see them with no signs of imperfection on their teeth. But a lot of the time, they actually enlist the help of braces to fix their teeth during their pre-debut days. However, there are actually a handful of idols who promote post-debut with their groups while having braces!

With that, here are some of the idols who wore braces while actively promoting.

1. ASTRO Sanha

During the early days of their debut, ASTRO member Sanha showed off his adorable visuals when he debuted with braces. The idol had his braces even during his trainee days, and only took them off after a couple of months following their debut in 2016. Reportedly, Sanha was the first idol to have visible braces while actively promoting.

2. Red Velvet Joy

Not much is known on when Joy had her braces, but during the 2017 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Joy's fansite Wonders Never Cease had captured a viral and legendary photo of the Red Velvet member during the event.

Joy can be seen touching her teeth in the photo, to which the idol revealed she was actually picking on her braces at the time.

3. Stray Kids I.N

Stray Kids member I.N was one of the idols who wasn't afraid to flaunt his braces. He lit up the room with his big smile, showing off his clear braces.

I.N had his braces for a while, before finally having them removed sometime in 2019. He had even expressed how sad he was to have it removed, as he was too attached to his braces!

4. EXO Sehun

Did you know Sehun wore braces while promoting with EXO? If you didn't know, it is because his braces was hidden behind his teeth, also known as lingual braces. Due to the placement of his braces, the only way fans could spot it if he opens his mouth wide whenever he speaks or laughs.

5. TWICE Chaeyoung

Several of the TWICE members actually had braces, most of them opting for lingual braces. But member Chaeyoung had the standard metal braces on her bottom teeth which she hid discreetly. If you are eagle-eyed, you may have noticed her braces in some of TWICE's music videos, like "Fancy."

6. IVE Jang Wonyoung

Prior to re-debuting with IVE, Jang Wonyoung had braces on her lower teeth during her Produce 48 days, and subsequently during her promotions as a member of IZ*ONE. However, her braces wasn't often seen as she was pretty good at hiding it!
