BTS Permitted to Do THIS During Military Service, As Per Ministry of Defense

During a regular press briefing on Oct. 18, Moon Hong Shik, a representative of South Korea's Ministry of National Defense, mentioned BTS's mandatory military service.

The Ministry official stated, "If It is for public service to the nation, or for national events or performances which benefit the nation, [BTS] will be given the opportunity to take part in performances and activities should they wish."

The official continued, "This chance is already available to some enlisted soldiers and we are not referencing any specific events or promotions at this time."

Last August, during a National Defense Committee, South Korean defense minister Lee Jong Seop said that BTS may still be able to perform overseas while carrying out their compulsory military service.

On Oct. 17, Big Hit Music announced its plans for BTS members to start their military service duties in order of age. Member Jin, in particular, intends to cancel the delay of his military enlistment later this month. After the withdrawal, he will follow the enlistment process of the Military Manpower Administration.

The other members will then enlist in the military according to their individual plans. And the boys are looking forward to reuniting as a group around 2025 after completing their military service.

Big Hit Music concluded their announcement by saying that BTS's "Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" is more than a song from the group's anthology album "Proof," as it is actually a promise that there's much more to come in the years ahead from BTS.
