That is why, whenever idols pursue their education despite the jampacked schedules, netizens cannot help but applaud their persistence to achieve a degree. To name a few idols who successfully claimed their college degree, we have Jin from BTS, Yuri from Girls' Generation, Siwon from Super Junior, Kun from NCT/WayV, and G-Dragon from Big Bang.
Currently, TWICE Nayeon is a candidate for a university degree. Still, when a screen grab of TWICE lead vocalist and 'POP' singer's educational background information reappeared in an online community, netizens could not help but comment - will Nayeon even finish her degree?
Will Nayeon earn a university degree?
With the circulation of her educational background information, netizens observed that TWICE's center has been in a state of "leave of absence" at Konkuk University.
Nayeon released 'POP' three months ago, the title track for her first mini-album entitled "IM NAYEON." The fun bubblegum beat of the song quickly caught the ears and hearts of many listeners, even non-ONCEs.

A few months later, JYP Entertainment gave TWICE its comeback for the album Between 1&2, having "Talk That Talk" as the lead track. Nayeon's 'POP' has 142 million views, while TWICE's latest comeback has 92 million views.

With Nayeon's success as one of the most notable centers in the K-pop industry and TWICE's charm as one of South Korea's gem girl groups, netizens wonder whether Nayeon "really needs" the university degree.
On October 18, 2022, the screen grab started resurfacing when a netizen created a forum entitled "Why Isn't Nayeon Dropping Out of University?" Notably, her leave of absence was filed for quite a while, thus pushing the netizens to suggest Nayeon "just drop out."

"She already hit so big that it's meaningless for her to attend university anymore."
"Don't you get expelled if you're on leave of absence for too long?"
" Didn't she first enroll when she was 21 years old?"

Should Nayeon pause her career to get the college diploma?
Despite the negative comments, some netizens defended the idol, saying that she took the leave of absence while uncertain whether her campaign as a singer and performer would propel. Some netizens also agreed that Nayeon needs the degree despite being famous and successful.
In the year 2014, Nayeon took film studies at Konkuk University. This degree (just in case Nayeon finishes it) may help her navigate the acting industry, just in case, she decides to become an actress or a director after her career with TWICE.
