On October 15, 2022, Twitter user mi (@mi_luhan20) shared a video of former EXO member Tao that has gone viral. As of writing, the tweet has over 12,600 likes, 6,270 quote tweets, and 2,276 retweets.

In the video, Tao is seen wearing a brown wig on his head. He talks to the camera before bringing two fingers to the wig. He yells, "Salut!" then removes the wig, exposing his scalp.

The state of his hair under the wig shocked many. The top part of his head is nearly bald, with only a few strands of hair. The side of his head has significantly more hair, but it appears to be thinning.

The user captioned the video, "No matter how many times I see it, I burst out laughing. It is so funny."

People who saw the video were surprised by the idol's sudden transformation. During his time as an idol, Tao dyed his hair different colors and tried out different styles. Many wondered if the years of hair coloring and heat had finally come to bite him back, leading to the shocking hair condition.

Tao is not actually bald. The idol-actor rocked the surprising hairstyle for his role in the Chinese movie "Moon Man."

In the movie, Tao plays an A-list actor. He wears a wig to preserve his image, hiding the fact that he is balding. However, after an asteroid fragment strikes Earth, nearly wiping out all of humanity, he allows his scalp to breathe, as he no longer has an image to protect.

Tao did not actually cut or shave his hair for the look. Instead, the costume designer and stylists created a bald head mold for Tao to wear while filming.
