(G)I-DLE Shuhua Encourages LGBT Fan About Dating the Same Gender

On October 18, a post uploaded on Daum Cafe's "Women Generation" gained massive attention as it featured (G)I-DLE's Shuhua straightforward response to a fan.

In particular, the post contained a clip from a past live broadcast of the female idol wherein a fan expressed their concerns, saying:

"I like someone of the same gender. What should I do?"

Shuhua then stared at the screen and replied in Mandarin:

"Just love. Just be brave and love. Don't whine."

Shuhua emphasized that it is not a big deal and encouraged the fan to be brave and love without thinking about others.

The fan sent a follow-up question, asking:

"What if my parents disapproved of it?"

 With this, Shuhua sensibly responded:

"This is a good question. But loving someone is something that is for you to do yourself, not your parents. Talk to your parents seriously and communicate with them nicely. If they truly love you, they will eventually accept it. It's okay. You guys aren't aware just how powerful love is."

After the clip circulated on social media platforms and online communities, people praised the singer and left comments such as:

  • "Shuhua seems to have a clear sense of values."
  • "She has a gentle face, but she is tough and strong inside."

Shuhua is known for being outspoken. In fact, thia is not the first time the "TOMBOY" singer spoke about social issues.
