Since the project's announcement last January 2022, NCT Lab has been a platform for NCT members to release their solo tracks and self-composed unit tracks. The project commenced with "Child" by Mark, followed by "coNEXTion (Age of Light) by Doyoung, Haechan (for vocals), Mark (for rap), and Shotaro (for performance).

Recently, "Rain Day" was released by Kun, Taeil, and Yangyang. The latest instalment prior to the October 20 announcement was Jaehyun's "Forever Only".

WayV Ten Sets Internet on Fire With 'Birthday' Teaser Photos

On October 20, 2022, SM Entertainment dropped the teaser photos, revealing Ten for his new solo song "Birthday." Based on the teaser photos, this solo comeback will feature the mysterious and edgy side of the Thai member.

According to SM, the song will highlight a "romantic and dreamy" vibe.

Fans expressed their anticipation that this single by Ten would reveal the main dancer's appealing and mesmerizing side.

Consequently, the fans are waiting for Ten's project under NCT Lab since the K-pop idol has spent roughly nine months overseas.

Upon seeing the teaser photos, some NCTzens and Weishennies speculated that Ten had teased the fans with the song already on his special stage in Great Dance Crew, where he served as a dance group leader.

To prepare for Ten's solo single, the social networking sites of NCT have changed their layout in accordance with the dark and edgy theme of the track.

What Makes WayV Ten An All-Rounder?

Despite rendering service as an NCT, WayV, and SuperM member, Ten has showcased his individuality with his former solo releases under SM Station Project: "Dream in a Dream" (2017), "New Heroes" (2018), and "Paint Me Naked" (2021).

In all these releases, Ten has proved how his soul is intertwined with performing, as manifested by his outstanding vocals, sharp yet graceful dance moves, and powerful stage presence.

When he released "Paint Me Naked", Ten mentioned in an interview with DIVE Studio podcast that he was highly involved in the song's production.

In line with WayV, Ten's NCT sub-unit, last September 2022, the Chinese sub-unit confirmed that a new album is on the way before the year concludes. This will be the group's latest comeback after a year with Kick Back's release.

However, it is still uncertain how many members will participate in this comeback.

Currently, WayV is set to light up the Manila stage with I-Pop U 2022 Manila with NCT Dream, XRDINARY HEROES, and Golden Child. But unfortunately, Ten and Winwin could not join their group due to health reasons.
