'Divorced Singles 2' Yoon Nam Gi Reveals He Almost Debuted in THIS SM Boy Group

Former "Divorced Singles 2" contestant Yoon Nam Gi revealed that he was casted by an entertainment company employee in the past and that he almost became a member of an SM boy group. Keep reading to know who that group is.

'Divorced Singles 2' Yoon Nam Gi Reveals He Almost Debuted in TVXQ

On Oct. 23, remarried couple Lee Da Eun and Yoon Nam Gi uploaded a YouTube short video to their channel. The video features the couple visiting Yoon's middle school.

For starters, Yoon Nam Gi and Lee Da Eun are former contestants in the second season of MBN's dating show "Divorced Singles." This program follows divorced couples who attempt to find a second chance in romance.

"Divorced Singles" has been a hit for MBN, as Yoon Nam Gi and Lee Da Eun went on to remarry. This couple earned massive attention from the audience that they later starred in their own spin-off reality show, "Divorced Singles: Birth of a Family."

In the YouTube short video, Lee Da Eun asks Yoon Nam Gi to share a memorable moment during his middle school days. The latter revealed, "This is where I first got my SM business card," suggesting that an employee from SM Entertainment approached him to join the company.

His wife then asks, "What does an SM business card look like? I'm curious." Her husband replied, "It's just white with SM written on it. There's also a pink stripe."

After discovering that an SM Entertainment employee tried to cast him, Lee Da Eun concluded that he could have become a member of an SM boy group, saying, "You could have become [a member of] H.O.T."

But "Divorced Singles 2" Yoon Nam Gi clarified that it's not H.O.T but TVXQ, explaining, "Oh, not that generation. I belong to the period where TVXQ is.TVXQ is the same age as me."

After hearing this, his wife sang Max Changmin's part in TVXQ's debut song "HUG" and said that he could have sung that part if he debuted as the group's member.

Meanwhile, Yoon Nam Gi and Lee Da Eun got married lthis past September and are now busy raising their daughter.

TVXQ's Recent Activities

In the past months, TVXQ made two comebacks in Japan. The first one was on March 16 when they dropped their extended play "Epitaph." In addition to the title track "Epitaph -for the future-," "Epitaph" contains four other songs.

On Aug. 17, TVXQ released their Japanese single album "UTSUROI," which consists of the title track of the same name and the B-side song "The Reflex." "UTSUROI" was digitally pre-released on July 30 and its music video came out on Aug. 14.

After TVXQ's "UTSUROI" was released online, it debuted at No. 3 on the Oricon Daily Digital Single Song chart (dated July 31) with 1,603 downloads. It also ranked 37th on Oricon's Weekly Digital Single Song chart (dated July 25 to 31) with 1,637 downloads.

Moreover, "UTSUROI" entered at No. 145 on the Worldwide iTunes Song chart on July 30 and climbed up to NO. 78 on the next day. It went on to spend three weeks on the tally, with its last ranking being at No. 183.

Meanwhile, the single album "UTSUROI" placed second on the Oricon Daily Single Album chart (dated Aug. 16) with 20,463 copies sold. It even claimed No. 114 on the Worldwide iTunes Album chart on Aug. 17.
