IN THE LOOP: ITZY's 'Boys Like You,' OMEGA X Allegedly Abused, More of This Week's Hottest Music/News

We've reached the last week of October, which means November is just around the corner. But before we welcome the upcoming month, let's take a look back at the hottest K-pop comebacks and news from Oct. 19 to 26.

K-pop Comebacks (October 2022): ITZY "Boys Like You," Jo Yuri "Loveable," NCT Ten "Birthday," More

ITZY "Boys Like You"

Prior to the release of their upcoming album, ITZY dropped a pre-release song titled "Boys Like You" on Oct. 21. Entirely sung in English, "Boys Like You" is a pop genre song that carries the message of no longer falling for "boys like you."

Jo Yuri "Loveable"

Jo Yuri is another female artist who made a K-pop comeback this October. She released her single album "Op. 22 Y-Waltz : in Minor," which features the title song "Loveable." Expressing the various ways of comforting other people, "Loveable" portrays the story of a woman who appears indifferent but consistently works behind the scenes to help a village that seems lonely.

NCT Ten "Birthday"

NCT Ten is also back with a new K-pop song, titled "Birthday." Released on Oct. 26, "Birthday" is the latest installment in SM STATION's ongoing "STATION: NCT LAB" project. It is an R&B dance song containing English lyrics that compares the days with a lover to a joyous birthday in a romantic way.

ATBO "Attitude"

Rookie group ATBO also joined the lineup of K-pop comeback this October. The boy group also returned to the music scene on the 26th and dropped their second mini-album "The Beginning: 始作." Of the six songs in the album, "Attitude" serves as the title track. ATBO's "Attitude" emphasizes the group's confidence with lyrics that say one should accept the cool style and attitude that only they can possess.

EPEX "Hymn to Love"

Another new K-pop song by a boy group this week is EPEX's "Hymn to Love," which is the title track of the band's fourth mini-album "Prelude of Love Chapter 1. 'Puppy Love." "Hymn to Love" is a pop dance song that compares the appearance of a boy who can't get away from his first love to the narrative of the Korean folk tale "Chunhyangjeon" (The Story of Chunhyang).

OMEGA X Allegedly Abused by Company CEO

After finishing their world tour with a concert in Los Angeles, OMEGA X fans reported witnessing the members being verbally and physically abused by Spire Entertainment's CEO, Kang Seong Hee. After that, SBS News released an exclusive footage of the CEO abusing the members as well as an exclusive report stating that the OMEGA X members booked a flight to Korea using their own money.

BTS Jin in Argentina

On Oct. 26 local time, BTS Jin attended Coldplay's concert in Argentina. Chris Martin gave him a shout-out during their "My Universe" performance and he called him "my brother." On Oct. 28 local time, Jin will once again appear on Coldplay's concert to premiere his upcoming song "The Astronaut."

BTS Jungkook in Qatar

Aside from Jin, Jungkook is another BTS member who is currently overseas, particularly in Qatar. It is said that he went there to promote the 2022 World Cup but he was also spotted filming something.
