Will Jungkook Serve Military? HYBE CEO Says Plans For Other BTS Members Remain Undecided

BTS Jungkook will be the last member to enlist in the military, but HYBE CEO recently admitted that the company does not have military plans for all members, except Jin, yet.

In the years leading to HYBE's confirmation regarding Jin's enlistment, the South Korean government debated on what to do with BTS members and other artists who have made "great contributions" to Korean pop culture.

After a long discussion, Big Hit Music released a statement confirming that the "Super Tuna" star would be the first member to begin his military service.

BTS Members' Military Plans Remain Unknown

In a report, HYBE reveals expectations regarding its revenue as it gears up ahead of Jin's enlistment. It quoted what HYBE's CEO Park Ji Won said during a conference call to show the company's third-quarter earnings.

Elsewhere in his statement, the CEO noted that the company expects to see a decrease in BTS' sales revenue as the members serve in the military.

On the other hand, he admitted that the schedule and other military plans for the six other members - RM, Jimin, Suga, Taehyung, J-Hope, V, and Jungkook - are still yet to be decided.

He offered no clarification regarding Jungkook's enlistment. The member, who is five years younger than Jin, will be the last one to enter the military.

Despite the lack of information, HYBE aims to have the members finish their services by 2025.

"The agency and the members hope they will be able to resume group activities in 2025 (after all of them finish the service), but for now, it is not easy to specify exactly when it will be. So each member will focus on individual activities for the time being according to their military service schedule," Big Hit Music said.

BTS Members Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook's Solo Albums Coming Up Soon

Although the news about BTS members' enlistment shattered ARMYs' hearts, fans received good news from the CEO who confirmed the idols' individual endeavors.

Hankook Ilbo quoted Park Ji Won's statement about Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook's solo projects, saying they would be presented next year. This will somehow help HYBE to maintain its sales even after Jin's enlistment.

HYBE, still, will reportedly focus more on other artists, including Seventeen, TXT, ENHYPEN, NewJeans, and LE SSERAFIM. In fact, the two girl groups are doing their best to see more than 100 percent growth by 2023.

The company also plans to debut a new boy group from Trainee A in December and another group in Japan.
