5 K-pop Idols Who Considered or Were Asked to Undergo Plastic Surgery But Chose Not To [Updated 2023]
Plastic surgery is common in K-pop, as many idols have bravely confessed that they underwent this procedure. There are also some artists who revealed that they once thought of getting the same procedure done, as well as those who were asked to do it.
Among them are the five singers below - but they went against the idea in the end.

Former 2NE1 CL
One of CL's signature features is her prominent monolids, which she has grown to love over the years. But before her debut, the idol was shamed numerous times for not having double eyelids. Because of that, CL was pressured to undergo a double eyelid surgery during the beginning of her career.

But the idol chose not to, as she didn't want to change anything in her body. That's how much she loves and is proud of her natural beauty.
Rain
Rain also experienced getting pressured by the people around him to get plastic surgery. One of those individuals is J.Y. Park.
When he was young, people didn't speak so kindly about his appearance. In an episode of his YouTube show "Season B Season," Rain shared, "When I was young, everyone said I'm ugly."

As a matter of fact, Rain was rejected by numerous companies before being accepted into JYP Entertainment because of his looks. In one of the auditions, he was told that his singing and dancing skills were great but he did not pass because he didn't have double eyelids.
While J.Y. Park encouraged him to get plastic surgery, Rain ultimately decided not to get anything done and his reason concerns J.Y. Park. He explained that since Park Jinyoung didn't look traditionally 'good-looking" either, he decided to just embrace his natural looks.
KARA Gyuri
KARA member Gyuri is another example of a K-pop idol who was told to undergo plastic surgery. Her label asked her to do so as they thought it would "improve" her visuals. The female idol went against the idea, as she is already satisfied with the way she looks.
Back in 2012, Gyuri appeared on the talk show "Do Dream," and that's where she shared that she rejected a plastic surgery offer when she was still a trainee. She said, "If you have plastic surgery, you can become cute and adorable. However, I wanted to be loved exactly the way I am." She added that she was told that she won't be able to debut unless she gets some procedures done in certain areas.
Former SISTAR Bora
Unlike the three K-pop idols above who were told to get plastic surgery, former SISTAR member Bora was actually the one who considered undergoing such a procedure.
In particular, she thought of getting double eyelid surgery when she was young. However, the doctors already found her eyes charming, which made the artist change her mind.
EXID Hani
EXID Hani is another K-pop idol who considered undergoing plastic surgery. The reason is that she was insecure of her visuals, so she was thinking of reconstructing her face. In the end, she decided not to do it because her mother gave her encouraging and positive remarks.
