After being in a relationship for nearly five years, Luhan and Guan Xiaotong constantly sparked marriage rumors starting last year. At that time, Korean news outlets claimed that the couple planned to tie the knot in February, but other outlets revealed that they just completed their marriage registration this year.

On Weibo (via Sina Entertainment China), Guan Xiaotong's father Guan Shaozeng addressed the buzz and the alleged $18 million proposal of the former K-pop idol.

"This is fake news that does not make sense. If they are to marry, we will reveal to everyone," he said.

The patriarch added that the family would gladly confirm the news if it was true.

As for the proposal costs, Guan Shaozeng dismissed the claims and explained he would not ask for such a hefty amount before allowing Luhan to marry Guan Xiaotong.

With the clarification the actress' father released, it is safe to say that the couple is yet to take a massive step in their relationship.

Luhan first confirmed their relationship through a post on Weibo (via TV Daily). They stirred dating rumors after meeting for the first time on the set of the sports romance drama, "Sweet Combat."

The statement from Guan Xiaotong's father Guan Shaozeng revealed the truth about the Chinese media outlets' reports that the couple registered their marriage. They reportedly moved in together in a place in Beijing.

Initial buzz added they had originally scheduled the wedding this year, but they decided to postpone it because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Korean media outlets then learned about the news and shared it through local entertainment sites, causing the buzz to grow further.

Where Is EXO Luhan Now

Luhan rose to fame when he debuted with EXO in 2012 and became part of its sub-group, EXO-M. He immediately turned people's heads, becoming the sixth most popular star in China the same year.

He initially attempted to train under JYP Entertainment by auditioning for its Chinese global auditions in 2008 but failed at that time.

Although he immediately found fame in EXO, he filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment and Lee Young Man to have his exclusive contract with the company terminated. He submitted his documents to the Seoul Central District Court.

He followed the lawsuit filed by EXO former member, Kris, who also sued the agency due to exploitation of basic human rights. He has since come under fire after several sexual abuse allegations from over 20 women emerged.

Kris denied the claims, but he lost his deals including the ones with Louis Vuitton and Porsche. The scandal also made him leave the industry and China.
