SHINee Minho Reported to Release Solo Album in THIS Month + SM Responds

SHINee Minho is reportedly releasing his first-ever solo album this year. SM Entertainment has since addressed the news.

SHINee Minho Reported to Release Solo Album in THIS Month + SM Reponds

On Nov. 8, Korean media outlet Sports Seoul issued an exclusive report stating that SHINee Minho will drop a solo album in mid-December.

His management agency, SM Entertainment, soon released an official statement through various news outlets including Newsen. The company said, "Minho is preparing for his first solo album with the aim of a December release. Please show lots of interest."

In the past years, Minho released solo songs through SM STATION such as "I'm Home" and "Heartbreak." He also had solo Japanese releases including "Romeo and Juliet" and "Falling Free." However, the upcoming project will be SHINee Minho's first solo album in 14 years since his debut.

Minho is the last SHINee member to release a solo album since his debut. Taemin made his solo debut in August 2014 with his first EP "Ace." Key's debut studio album "Face" came out in November 2018, while Onew released his first EP "Voice" in December 2018.

SHINee Minho's Recent Musical Activities

In the past ten months, Minho carried out numerous activities as part of SHINee. Although the boy group did not make a comeback, they are still active in some ways.

In particular, Minho and his co-members (except Taemin who is serving in the military) participated in SM Entertainment's SMTOWN LIVE 2022: SMCU Express at Kwangya, which was held on Jan. 1 in Suwon. The event broke the record for the most-streamed Korena online concert after garnering 51 million streams.

During the show, SHINee Minho performed his solo song "Heartbreak." He also joined his fellow SM artists to sing the songs "Dear My Family" and "Hope from Kwangya."

After wrapping up their Suwon concert, SMTOWN held three shows at Tokyo Dome in Japan from Aug. 27 to 29. Like in Korea, Minho also sang "Heartbreak," and he also had a unit performance with TVXQ Changmin and Super Junior Kyuhyun. (The three performed "Ashura-chan.")

Prior to SMTOWN LIVE 2022 in Tokyo, Minho released two Japanese songs, titled "Romeo and Juliet" and "Falling Free," on Aug. 24. These tracks were first revealed in May during the idol's fan meeting "SHINee World J Presents - Best Choi's Minho 2022" in Japan.

Apart from his musical activities, SHINee Minho also hosted a web show, along with TVXQ Changmin. The program, titled "ChangMinho's Buddy Birdie," combined golf and travel. The two idols went on a vacation to Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands, which is popular for its amazing golf courses. The reality show aired from Aug. 29 to Sept. 20.

Meanwhile, Minho is set to appear on an upcoming travel variety show. According to OSEN, the new program is called "Ticketing With Two Feet (literal title)" and will be released on TVING. It is reported to present an exciting journey of the four stars together in New Zealand.

The new travel variety show starring Ha Jung Woo, Ju Ji Hoon, Yeo Jin Goo, SHINee Minho will premiere during the Lunar New Year holiday season next year.
