SM Entertainment Called Out for Understock of Red Velvet's 'The ReVe Festival 2022 - Birthday'

On Nov. 7, Red Velvet officially revealed the date and teasers for their highly-anticipated November comeback. Their new mini-album, called "The ReVe Festival 2022 - Birthday," is due out on Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. KST.

This album follows their fifth EP "The ReVe Festival 2022 - Feel My Rhythm," which was released this past March.

Along with the release date, Red Velvet also uploaded the first teasers for their upcoming release, which appear to remind people of the animated cat in their "Russian Roulette" music video from 2016 and the odd-eyed cat that first appeared in their "Ice Cream Cake" MV from 2015.

On Nov. 8, Red Velvet announced the start of the pre-order for "The ReVe Festival 2022 - Birthday." The Cake Version and Photobook Version were both made available on online stores, such as YES24, Aladdin, Hottracks, and Interpark, among others. They were also available for purchase on SMTOWN & Store's official website.

However, a problem occurred- ReVeluvs can no longer buy the album as it is already out of stock in various online stores, such as kpoptown, InterAsia, and Ktown4u.

Many fans pointed out that the available stocks of the Cake Version in one online store was just 5,674 copies, while the Photobook Version had 12,673 copies.

And, in just 30 minutes, the Cake Version was sold out in that particular shop. The fact that the group has a huge fan base makes it not a big of a surprise that the album got out of stock in a short period.

Moreover, it is said that there's no Cake Version of Red Velvet's "The ReVe Festival 2022 - Birthday" on SMTOWN & Store's website, which many fans find weird.

Since there's no more available copies to purchase and many fans are yet to place their orders, ReVeluvs are calling out SM Entertainment to restock the album and stop "underestimating" the girl group's selling power.

One fan even questioned how the company can produce millions of album stocks for its other artists but they can't make more than 5,000 stocks for Red Velvet.

Another fan claimed that the other SM artists didn't get their albums out of stock, which makes it obvious that SM Entertainment is "mistreating" the girl group.
