OMEGA X Issues Statement Following Resignation of Spire Entertainment's CEO

OMEGA X has released a new statement after Spire Entertainment's CEO, Kang Seong Hee, resigned from her position due to physically, mentally, and verbally abusing the members.

OMEGA X Issues Statement Following Resignation of Spire Entertainment's CEO

Many people are paying attention to OMEGA X and Spire Entertainment these days after it was revealed that the agency's CEO, Kang Seong Hee, had been abusing the members.

The issue began when several fans of the K-pop boy group claimed that they had witnessed the abuse themselves at the time OMEGA X was in North and South America for their world tour, "2022 OMEGA X WORLD TOUR [CONNECT: Don't Give Up]."

Spire Entertainment has since addressed the issue, saying that they have "resolved all their misunderstandings," and the CEO also denied that any abuse had taken place in a phone call with SBS News.

However, SBS News later uploaded an exclusive video showing Spire Entertainment's CEO abusing the OMEGA X members.

Ultimately, OMEGA X broke their silence by launching a new Instagram account unattached to Spire Entertainment and posting a joint statement to express their gratitude to the fans, mention their future plans, and explain why it took them some time to address the matter.

Since then, Spire Entertainment's CEO voluntarily resigned and the agency apologized to all OMEGA X members, families, and fans. The label also said that they will do their best to make sure that such things will not happen again and to provide a better environment for the members.

On Nov. 9, OMEGA X took to their new Instagram account to post an additional update about the situation. They apologized for not updating the fan often and promised that they will not back down and one day meet with FOR X (their fan club) again.

Their full statement is as follows:

"How are our FOR Xs doing? We're sorry that we're not able to share news daily like before. I miss those times so much. It may take some time, but we will protect OMEGA X and FOR X with the same heart and will. We won't back down as we have built up the courage.

No matter what happens, we will do our best to stand on stage again in a good environment and image. We want to meet our fans who believe and support us until the end with a smile. FOR X, we love you."

OMEGA X then included the hashtags "#오메가엑스." "#OMEGAX," and "#PROTECTOMEGAX" at the end.

Unfortunately, OMEGA X's future activities have been suspended. So, the day when the group and their fans will reunite remains uncertain.

OMEGA X's Latest Comeback

Prior to the controversy, OMEGA X made a comeback on June 15 with their first studio album "Story Written in Music." A total of 13 songs are included in the album, one of which is the title track "Play Dumb."

"Story Written in Music" has become the group's best-selling album on the Hanteo Chart in the first week, as it sold more than 100,000 copies (surpassing their previous record of 85,845 copies set by "LOVE ME LIKE").
