TXT Yeonjun Hit by Trash at 'Music Bank in Chile' 2022? Here's What Happened

On Nov. 12 local time, "Music Bank in Chile" took place in honor of the 10th anniversary of the first "Music Bank in Chile" back in 2012. The star-studded lineup of performers included NCT Dream, TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), ATEEZ, (G)I-DLE, The Boyz, and STAYC.

This year's event marked the third time it was held in the country (after 2012 and 2018), as well as the end of a multiple-year hiatus due to COVID-19.

Prior to the event, some fans saw TXT rehearse their performances, and one of them was a cover of BTS' "Boy in Luv." Member Huening Kai was also believed to perform Dan + Shay, Justin Bieber's "10,000 Hours," as he was heard rehearsing the song.

Unfortunately, MOA (TXT's fan club) was unable to see those covers, as "Music Bank in Chile" was canceled halfway through the event because of the dangerous weather conditions.

Aside from TXT, NCT Dream, and ATEEZ were also eventually unable to perform. But they did go up the stage to greet their fans, thank them for coming, and apologize for not being able to show the performances they prepared for them.

In particular, TXT said that they felt sad because it was their first time in Chile. And according to a fan, the boys apologized and said thank you about 10 times.

Before leaving the stage, the TXT members, along with the other artists, took the time to wave to the fans and comfort them. However, it is believed that Yeonjun was hit by "trash" at one point.

One netizen who appeared to have attended the "Music Bank in Chile" was able to capture this incident and posted it on Twitter. They wrote in Spanish, "Who was the [one] who threw [something] at Yeonjun? Wasn't it enough that we all went through a sh*tty event???"

In the clip, TXT Yeonjun can be seen waving to the fans, and suddenly, something small flew toward the idol, hitting his back. The singer turned his head to the direction where that thing came from, but he didn't actually see what was thrown at him. He then continued saying goodbye to the fans.

The tweet was reposted on the online forum Nate Pann and the post was titled, "Seems like Yeonjun Really Was Hit by Trash?" The netizen wrote, "Seems like someone was mad at the 'Music Bank in Chile' getting canceled so they threw their trash. Ah this makes me tear up. Seriously, it's not like it was his fault. After getting hit by the trash, he even looked back and kept smiling and greeting fans."

In the comments section of the tweet and the Nate Pann post, some netizens said that the thing that hit Yeonjun wasn't trash but a little teddy bear. But the original poster of the video commented that even if it was only a toy, it's not right to throw things at the idol.

Here are some of the netizens' reactions:

"I'm a fan of another group but this is so heartbreaking. Why are these innocent idols the ones apologizing and the ones being treated like that?"

"That was a toy. But the action of throwing things at others is just so rude."

"Yeonjun seemed so apologetic for the canceled event, and people are throwing things at him?"

"For real, this is so rude and impolite."

"I believe it's only a stuffed toy."

What can you say about the incident? Do you think the thing that was thrown at TXT Yeonjun was trash or a teddy bear?
