OMEGA X's Japanese Management Company Terminates Contract With Spire Entertainment Amid Abuse Controversy

Skiyaki Inc., OMEGA X's Japanese management company, announced that it cut ties with Spire Entertainment amid the abuse and assault controversy surrounding its former CEO, Kang Seong Hee.

As the abuse and assault allegations against Spire Entertainment's former CEO have been proven true, OMEGA X members braved everything and took a massive step to cut ties with the agency. Aside from terminating the group's contract, it also plans to take further legal action against the former CEO.

Even the K-pop group's Japanese management company chose not to tolerate the company's behavior.

Skiyaki Inc. Terminates Business Alliance With Spire Entertainment

Amid the damaging controversy, OMEGA X's management company in Japan, Skiyaki Inc., held a special board of directors meeting today and decided to end its partnership with Spire Entertainment.

The Japanese company confirmed the development in a statement shared on its website. The decision was made following the K-pop group's press conference in South Korea.

The statement continued:

"We requested Spire for clarification regarding the issues between the company and OMEGA X members that have been circulating online since October, but we were unable to get any satisfactory response."

According to Skiyaki, Spire Entertainment's conduct against its artists violated their exclusive contract and damaged OMEGA X and its fans' trust.

As of press time, the future of OMEGA X under Skiyaki remains unknown. But the company told fans it would update them regarding its Japanese site and activities.

OMEGA X Members Detail Harrowing Stories of Abuse, Assault

All 11 members of OMEGA X - Yechan, Taedong, Jaechan, Hyuk, Hangyeom, Junghoon, Sebin, Xen, Hwichan, Kevin, and Jehyun - faced the reporters in a press conference in South Korea and detailed what they went through, including verbal, sexual, and physical abuse.

The members opened up that they also experienced similar situations during their stay at their previous agencies. For instance, Taedong said that his previous label treated him and the other trainees unfairly, making them practice 15 to 17 hours a day without rest.

The company also forced him to give them his passwords. Most members could be seen getting emotional as they recalled their experiences and expressed how these things were seemingly normalized.

The group's representative, attorney No Jeong Eon, said, "This isn't just an issue that only Omega X has been through, but it's about every young constituent of our society which is treated unfairly by those in power."

OMEGA X members, amid the controversy, assured their fans they would soon come back and perform on one stage together again.
