As new details start to unfold, Hook Entertainment addressed the turn of events in a statement where it also denied the claims.

Lee Seung Gi's Agency Apologizes For Recent Legal Issues

Star News shared the statement from Hook Entertainment which it released on Friday. The agency strongly denied the reports regarding his music earnings in the past 18 years.

It mentioned CEO Kwon Jin Young, who was recently slammed over his verbal abuse toward the celebrity

At the same time, it apologized to Lee Seung Gi and everyone affected by the blunder.

"As we previously revealed in an earlier statement, we are currently still in the process of organizing the record requested by Lee Seung Gi's legal representative. While we have not completed the process, unconfirmed information about Lee Seung Gi's profits and earnings are being reported by media outlets, which we find unfortunate," part of the statement reads.

Hook Entertainment explained that the actor and the agency signed a mutual agreement last year, confirming that the financial responsibilities for both sides had been carried out completely.

Still, the company cooperated with the "My Girlfriend is a Gumiho" star due to his legal request.

On the other hand, it ultimately debunked the claims that it did not give him his music earnings since his debut.

Hook Entertainment ended its statement by giving the public a warning regarding the defamation toward its artist. It said it would launch strong legal action if false and baseless information continues to be spread.

Lee Seung Gi released 27 albums and 137 songs throughout his career as a singer.

Lee Seung Gi's Legal Action Explored

The apology statement was released following Lee Seung Gi's move to send content certification to his agency.

Sports Chosun divulged that the request was due to his desire to see the full and transparent disclosure of his music earnings. Per the report, the "Because You're My Woman" singer thought there were discrepancies in his financial statements and matters with his agency.

Hook Entertainment confirmed the request and agreed to review the data.

Amid its preparation, its CEO got embroiled in a related controversy after the release of a voice recording of his verbal abuse.

Dispatch released the audio recording between CEO Kwon Ji Young and Lee Seung Gi's manager. The clip recorded the CEO threatening the actor to kill him, saying that he would spend his whole life to kill him.

The manager then lost his cool and told the CEO he would leave the company after nine years.

He then told the news outlet that Lee Seung Gi was not able to ask about his music revenue because the CEO always gaslighted him.
