The dating rumor between Jessica Jung and the Super Junior member emerged back in 2012.

On Jan. 16, a post containing a photo was created on an online community titled "Jessica and Donghae's Past."

Based on the title, the picture showing Jessica and Donghae is an old one (see image above). It can be seen that the two are fondly leaning their heads against each other while looking at the camera. It immediately caused a stir with many netizens speculating that they dated each other in the past.

Netizens paid attention to their young faces and Donghae's haircut that was popular a few years back. Because of their youthful look, people believed that they were in a relationship during the early debut days of the former Girls' Generation member.

On Jan. 20, Jessica Jung and Super Junior Donghae fueled their dating rumors with a photo that the latter posted on Twitter. The picture was taken after the 2012 Seoul Music Awards (see image below).

In his tweet featuring the photo, Donghae wrote, "My adorable dongsaeng (younger sibling) Jessica. Thank you so much for congratulating our Daesang yesterday. Congratulations on your first drama recording today. Please show us lots of love."

The image perfectly captured the two idols' closeness, but it's also not hard to miss how cute they look together. Because of their dating rumors that emerged before this picture was taken, fans questioned if the last line of Donghae's tweet is supposed to have other meanings aside from asking fans to support them in their activities.

Although the rumor was going around for days, the two artists' agency, SM Entertainment, didn't release an official statement to confirm or deny their relationship. The two also remained silent about the matter. Thus, the rumor remained a rumor until it eventually died down.

Meanwhile, as of 2022, Jessica Jung is still dating her boyfriend, Tyler Kwon.

Super Junior Donghae's Current Relationship Status & Ideal Type

As of this writing, there are no reports stating that Super Junior Donghae is in a relationship. There also hasn't been any online community posts about him dating someone. Also, the male idol has been secretive about his lovelife, so it's hard to tell whether he's single or not. We can just assume that he's still single until an official confirmation is given.

About Donghae's ideal type, he likes girls with pretty fingers. He also likes someone who's a dignified and pure type, but sexy at the same time. He also seeks someone who will take good care of him and will pay attention to him, as he feels lonely most of the time.

During his appearance on XtvN's "Super TV," Donghae chose Canadian actress Rachel McAdams as his ideal type of woman.
