These five K-pop idols served "princess-like" visuals with their iconic "hime cut"!

Hime cut, also known as the princess cut, is a hairstyle with bangs down and side hair cut horizontally. It is a classic look popular among teens. To achieve a hime cut, long black hair with full bangs is the standard.

However, there are a variety of styles that surfaced, giving a new twist to the hairstyle.

Among K-pop idols, some of the first female idols who popularized this hairstyle were TWICE Momo, Red Velvet Irene, the late Sulli, BLACKPINK Lisa, (G)I-DLE Miyeon and more.

Among female stars who challenged this style in 2022, here are the five idols who rocked the "hime cut":

1. Bae Suzy

The "Nation's First Love" Bae Suzy transformed into a princess after trying the classic "hime cut."

Flaunting her long black hair, she cut straight her sidelocks with full bangs. Usually, this hairstyle was showcased as it is, but Suzy looks even more gorgeous after doing a half-tied hair and finishing the style with a huge ribbon.

Vogue Korea recommends that if you want to try the hime cut for the first time, it's a good choice to style it in the standard way like Suzy.

2. KARA Gyuri

One of the OG visuals from the second-gen era along with Bae Suzy, the "When I move" singer flaunted her unrivaled visuals in a hime cut.

Mostly, the hairstyle suits girls in their teens or early 20s, but would you believe that Gyuri rocked this even though she's 34?

Just like her nickname, "Goddess," the 88-born idol's beauty is undoubtedly top-tier.

3. Red Velvet Joy

Ever since their debut, Red Velvet has always been ahead of the trends that Irene initially tried the hairstyle in 2018.

This time, Joy tried the hime cut and she immediately became a hot topic for her mature yet lovely and refreshing appearance. To give it another twist, Joy did the pigtails leaving the side hairs to fall over her ears carelessly and it truly balanced her overall look!

4. NewJeans Danielle

New Jeans members are showing a new style during the year-end awards season. When they debuted, the team earned interest for their black, long, straight hair.

But recently, Danielle who always has curly hair showed a different variation of the hime cut. She highlighted natural curling by adding layers to bright colors. The point of this hair is to add curls to the hair that falls to the side. It creates the illusion of having short hair. It's hair cut that goes well with her unique features.

5. KARA Jiyoung

Last but not least, Jiyoung, a co-member of Gyuri also showcased the hime cut along with her.

Contrary to Suzy, a same-aged idol who was also born in 1994, Jiyoung looked bolder in her hairstyle, complimenting her fashionable and fancy stage outfits.
