The KBS Gayo Daechukje 2022 (KBS Song Festival) has teased another special collaboration stage that fans can anticipate at the upcoming event- and it will be a performance involving members from four popular 4th gen K-pop girl groups.

KBS Gayo Daechukje 2022 Teases Collab Stage of THESE 4th Gen K-pop Girl Group Members

On Dec. 12, the KBS Gayo Daechukje 2022 released a photo through its official Twitter account. The picture shows five female K-pop idols sitting on individual chairs while facing the wall and holding each other's hands.

According to Newsen, these idols who will present a collaboration stage at the music festival are members of 4th gen K-pop girl groups, particularly NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM, IVE and NMIXX.

Although their faces aren't seen in the photo, Newsen reported that they are NewJeans Minji and Hyein, NMIXX Sullyoon, LE SSERAFIM Eunchae, and IVE Leeseo. It was also pointed out that the room they are in is a dance practice room at HYBE.

In the past weeks, the KBS Gayo Daechukje 2022 has been teasing special collaboration stages of 4th gen K-pop girl groups on Twitter. So far, the collab stages revealed are LE SSERAFIM Kim Chaewon x NMIXX Haewon; ITZY Yuna x IVE Jang Wonyoung x (G)I-DLE Miyeon; and STAYC Yoon x (G)I-DLE Yuqi x IVE Liz.

These rookie girl groups have been taking the music industry by storm with their numerous catchy songs.

IVE, in particular, is known for their hit songs "ELEVEN," "LOVE DIVE," and "After LIKE." "LOVE DIVE" was even crowned Song of the Year at the 2022 Melon Music Awards and the 2022 MAMA Awards.

NewJeans is another 4th gen K-pop girl group considered as a rookie monster, as their debut songs ("Attention," "Hype Boy," and "Cookie") have been setting records not only on Korean music charts but also on Billboard charts.

For instance, "Hype Boy" has already stayed for 17 weeks on Billboard Global 200 (as of Dec. 10), the second-longest record for a 4th gen K-pop group song in history.

As SOURCE MUSIC's first girl group in seven years, LE SSERAFIM immediately caught the attention of the public. Their songs "FEARLESS" and "ANTIFRAGILE" ranked high on Korena music charts and even earned the group multiple music show wins.

NMIXX, who are loved for being an all-rounder group with impressive vocals, dance skills, and visuals, has also successfully entered several major domestic music charts with their unique songs "O.O" and "DICE."

The JYP girl group also saw great results in album sales, with their comeback album "ENTWURF" surpassing 440,000 copies sold in just a week of its release.

Finally, ITZY, (G)I-DLE, and STAYC also continue to make a mark in the music industry with their various concepts and song genres that make them stand out.

This year's KBS Song Festival will take place on Friday, Dec. 16, at Jamsil Arena. Hosted by Kim Shin Young, IVE Jang Wonyoung, and Na In Woo, the event will be broadcast live from 8:30 p.m. KST via KBS 2TV.
