BIGBANG Daesung Reveals Emotional Handwritten Letter To YG Entertainment

After 16 years, Daesung ended his ties with YG Entertainment in December 2022.

However, YG Entertainment made it clear that he is still with BIGBANG.

The same applied for fellow member Taeyang, a bandmate who has joined with THEBLACKLABEL on the same day.

On January 2, Daesung posted a video titled "One day, I got a mystery diary" on his YouTube account, D'splay.

In the clip, Daesung focuses on a notebook that contained a message. The note is revealed to be a letter addressed to YG Entertainment.

On the letter, Daesung expressed his gratitude to YG, as he was given by the opportunity to join BIGBANG and develop as a person.

Daesung also stated how he's admittedly uncertain what the future holds for him and is only left with courage to proceed.

With an emotional end note for the letter, he conveyed how the phrase "Nothing lasts forever" is sometimes false, since there are things that do last.

Daesung declares that BIGBANG is one of those things.

"Thank you very much for taking care of me, raising me, and growing with me for a long time, even though I was only young. With that gratitude in the back of my heart, I'm about to embark on a new adventure.

Of course, I'm scared. But I think this trembling feeling is nothing but a vigorous step worth taking, towards the unknown. In 2023, I'm taking a step with a confident heart, in the face of a foggy future that I'm uncertain of.

However, I am going to walk that path with bravery and boldness. I am still very immature and lacking in many parts, but please pay a lot of attention and support to my steps. I appreciate it.

Happy New Year everyone.

BIGBANG Daesung & Taeyang Leave YG Entertainment

Following T.O.P's departure, his fellow members Taeyang and Daesung made the decision to leave YG Entertainment after 16 years as well.

G-Dragon is now the only BIGBANG member left in the company, causing fans to be curious about their future.

YG Entertainment released the following statements on December 26, regarding BIGBANG members' situation and their future plans.

The company started from Taeyang, Daesung to G-Dragon:

"BIGBANG Taeyang has become an artist of the BLACK label, a YG affiliate. We are truly delighted to be able to deliver the news of Taeyang's new start."

"Daesung has terminated his contract and is looking for a new start."

"We are discussing a solo contract with GD (G-Dragon)."
