From College Classmates To Awkward Friends, Colleagues: EXO Suho & 'The Glory' Lim Jiyeon Relationship Re-Examined

Amid the popularity of actress Lim Jiyeon for her outstanding villain role in Netflix's Original, "The Glory," her past activities and relationship with stars are also being re-examined. K-pop fans were shocked after finding out that Lim Jiyeon actually shares an unexpected relationship with this idol, none other than EXO Suho!

Suho attended the Korean National University of Arts from 2009 to 2012, the same as Lim Jiyeon. They are proud alumni of the Department of Acting’s Class of 2009 and their connection was first revealed in 2016.

In particular, Lim Jiyeon, at the time made, headlines after posting her selfie together with the idol on Instagram. Because there were a lot of people who didn't know they were college classmates, they were embroiled in a dating rumor.

However, Lee Jiyeon immediately drew the line, saying:

"With Junmyeon, my colleague whom I met at Golden Disc Awards."

After it became a hot topic, Lim Jiyeon revealed an anecdote with Suho in an interview, claiming that they were actually close to each other. She narrated:

EXO Suho & Lim Jiyeon Rekindle Friendship in 2022

After 6 years, Suho and Lim Jiyeon met again through the SBS entertainment show, "If I Go Just Once," in October. Lim Juyeon showed familiarity with the idol by calling him, "Junmyeon~ah."

The actress recalled meeting Suho in 2016 and said:

"I went to the award ceremony (in the past), and there was Junmyeon in the waiting room. It was so cool. He was no longer Junmyeon, but an idol."

She even teased the idol, saying:

"At that time, Junmyeon wasn't even good at singing."

However, in the succeeding episode aired in November, the two stars confessed that they actually weren't close when they were in school, as people would have imagined. Lim Jiyeon confessed:

"We weren't that close. I said it in a pre-interview. In fact, Junmyeon is the most difficult. To me, Junmyeon has been a celebrity since he was young."

Suho shared the same sentiment and added:

"I think (meeting) Jiyeon will be awkward. We're colleagues, but we didn't see each other although we were classmates, and we know it's awkward."

Eventually, the two rekindled their friendship and at the end of the broadcast, both stars revealed how they were grateful to see each other's new aspects and sides.
