On January 12, NewJeans' label ADOR Entertainment released an official statement explaining the girls' situation in the U.S.
The agency elaborated how the group's schedules for Friday, January 13 will be canceled, due to flight delays.
They explained how a major malfunction in the flight systems caused the delay, making NewJeans unable to proceed with their schedules. They stated the group was supposed to perform at KBS Music Bank, and go to a fan signing event.
Afterwards, they announced that alternative flights were explored, to take advantage of the remaining schedule. However, the airport conditions made it challenging. The statement ended with assuring safety for NewJeans members.

"Hello.
This is ADOR speaking.
We're here to update you for NewJeans' current schedule.
NewJeans was supposed to return from an overseas schedule on time, but was unable to do so, due to a problem with the local computer system in the United States. This malfunction resulted in significant flight delays and cancellations.
Because of this, the group was unable to participate in KBS Music Bank, and fan signing event set for January 13.
The broadcast of winners on Music Bank's pre-recording for today has also been postponed. For the fan signing event, we will announce further details for its schedule.
To maximize the schedule locally, we explored options for alternate flights. Unfortunately, the effects of the disruption made it challenging.
We kindly ask for everyone's patience, and look forward to NewJeans' Music Bank Stage, as well as their fan signing event.
We'll take every precaution to make sure the artists arrive home safely.
Thank you."
For further background, a computer error at the Federal Aviation Administration apparently caused delays in aviation travel across the U.S.
On January 11, Approximately 10,000 flights across the US were momentarily delayed, while more than 1,300 planes were called off.
NewJeans Sets The Highest Pre-Order Record For Girl Group Debut Album
In other news, NewJeans is a brand-new female group that was debuted by ADOR, the newest HYBE subsidiary label run by Min Hee Jin, a former SM Entertainment creative director.
In a press release on July 28, ADOR stated that more than 440,000 pre-orders for the NewJeans album "NewJeans" had been placed.

The debut EP was able to reach that remarkable number in just three days.
With this incredible amount, NewJeans has set the mark for the most pre-orders for a debut album. It also surpassed aespa's "Savage," which received 401,000 pre-orders in October 2021.
