Jinni in 2021 to 2022: NMIXX Debut, Departure From Group & JYPE + Rumor of Being 'Kicked Out'

On August 2021, Jinni's face became first known in the K-pop industry after JYP Entertainment introduced her as one of the members of its new K-pop girl group three years after ITZY.

In particular, JYPn, hereinafter NMIXX's official SNS at the time, unveiled a pre-debut dance performance video showing the skills of Jinni, along with Jiwoo and Kyujin.

Even prior to her debut, Jinni was already among the most popular members lauded for her impressive dance, rap skills and charisma.

On February 22, 2022, the idol was finally launched as NMIXX official member and since then, she rose as the group's "center."

However, she surprised the whole music scene when JYP Entertainment brought a sudden news in December.

On Dec. 9, 2022, the company announced that Jinni would no longer be a part of NMIXX and JYP after she decided to terminate her contract due to personal reasons.

Following this decision, NMIXX continued its activities as a six-member group, comprised of Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, BAE Jiwoo, and Kyujin.

When Jinni left NMIXX, it was rumored that it wasn't a voluntary exit but she was actually kicked out. The speculated ignited as the idol disappeared so suddenly without any message to fans.

The "DICE" singer also didn't share succeeding plans about whether she would leave the entertainment industry or pursue her career in other fields.

For about a month, fans wondered what happened to the idol because of her silence amid rumors.

On January 15, Jinni's academy teacher left a meaningful message that drew the attention of K-pop fans and netizens.

The teacher particularly wrote encouraging words for Jinni's future endeavor, saying:

"Sincere efforts would not betray you. Because you did your best, I was able to let you go without regret.

During that time, a young fifth-grade elementary school student has come back and forth between Busan and Seoul by herself, achieving her dream until the end. Our, Busan Haeundae best-practicing bug Yunjin, you did a great job.

I'm really proud of you, you are amazing and you did great.

Now is when the teacher is saying a few words in public. As you said, you did your best without regret, so there's nothing you can't do. This teacher believes in you."

On the same day, Saena, a member of Fifty Fifty who is a friend and Busan school mate of Jinni, shared a brief update about the idol.

According to her, Jinni is doing well right now and they were also on good terms.

Although this doesn't reveal the idol's exact current activities, NSWERs (NMIXX fans) were satisfied to know that the star is at least doing okay and that's what matters to them the most.
