SM Entertainment Sparks Discussion From Pink Bloods Regarding Song Quality

SM Entertainment has ignited a discussion within fans on an online forum. SM's fans, Pink Bloods, examined the company's latest song choices for their artists.

Here's what people are saying.

Pink Bloods Discuss SM Entertainment's Suspected Difficulties in Music Trend Reading

On January 16, SM Entertainment gained attention from their fans, Pink Bloods. In an online forum, the fans discussed the company's recent song picks for their artists. Fans claimed how most of SM's released songs didn't leave a mark, in terms of distinct sound.

As the discussion progressed, fans also elaborated how SM Entertainment are having difficulties reading the music trend. They suggested how SM needs to consider riding the bandwagon for once, and not pioneer a musical style.

Pink Bloods have also called out the lyrics production, as well as describing SM's current style as stagnating.

Furthermore, they added that despite the public's musical taste changing over time, SM Entertainment still pushes the same style lineup for releases.

"I really liked songs like Taemin's 'Move.' But honestly, none of the songs that SM has released in the recent years were spectacular. What has changed?"

"They are so prideful about not following a trend and trying to start one. It's just that they can't read the market at all. These days, they give all their artists the same style of songs."

"This is something that fans should be pointing out but instead, they are defending it saying how it sounds "expensive", so SM is disillusioned thinking how their beats actually sound expensive. That's why they release noise beats like this."

"The public's taste keeps on evolving but SM is forcing their taste on us. It's been years since they've been doing this so even with new releases, the hype has died down and people have started to distance themselves."

Pink Bloods Discuss K-pop's Expansion of Global 'Casual' Listeners

During the discussion, fans called out K-pop's current impact worldwide. As opposed to previous generations where K-pop was mostly consumed in local areas, its vast popularity today cannot be debunked.

They explained that SM Entertainment's strengths relies on building a strong core fandom through its groups and musical style.

However, in today's time, K-pop has expanded and has amassed more 'casual' listeners. Fans remarked that these target audiences won't be pleased with SM's current music trend-setting.

"It's very outdated. They insist on standing out, but it's almost always in a way that turns off the casual listener."

"It's been known that one of SM's strengths is amassing a long-lasting, core fandom. But now that K-pop has grown exponentially, and has more of a global "casual" audience. I'm not saying they need to throw away the SM identity and brand, but they need to step up and adapt to current trends at least a little."
