NCT Taeyong Under Fire In Japan After Showing THIS — What Happened?

NCT Taeyong is receiving flak in Japan after posting on his Instagram Story.

Here's why the idol is under fire.

NCT Taeyong Instagram Story Post Criticized by Japanese

On January 26, an online user posted in a forum, showcasing NCT Taeyong's Instagram story. In the post, the story featured a map of Dokdo. The user stated that Taeyong is claiming the Dokdo territory as part of Korea.

The user also emphasized that Taeyong must've taken the picture at a museum in Bogota, Columbia during NCT 127's world tour. Several Japanese netizens pointed out that Taeyong was being inconsiderate towards NCT's Japanese members.

People also noticed the island Takeshima is related to Taeyong's searches, which contains history regarding the Japan-South Korea sovereignty dispute over the location.

They called him out for bringing up the island, describing the idol as unprofessional.

Meanwhile, they also brought up Taeyong wearing comfort women bracelets. People added how Taeyong was already in hot water in Japan, due to his previous issue regarding the bracelets.

The forum also quoted one of the Japanese netizens' tweets, which claimed Taeyong to be anti-Japan, and how problematic the idol is.

See their comments below:

"He showed on his IG story that Dokdo territory was part of Korea, f**k. He must've taken that picture at some museum in Bogota, Columbia when NCT 127 was touring."

"So Taeyong turns out to be anti-Japan. Ever since his middle school years, he should've just stayed quiet."

"Taeyong's IG story was a mess, but he doesn't even care that he has other Japanese members in his team, he's the type of guy who would wear comfort women related stuff on his body. That's not weird at all."

"Letting the global market know about something like that is honestly unprofessional. Of course, I support him, but there are times when he cannot hide the fact that he's dumb. He shows that he lacks principles."

NCTzens Defend Taeyong: Was the Japanese Citizens' Anger Exaggerated?

Upon learning the issue, fans jumped to Taeyong's defense, backing up the idol from outraged Japanese.

NCTzens called the hate comments exaggerated, and assured that there was no issue to begin with, since Taeyong was simply showing a Korean map.

Fans also stated that calling Taeyong "Anti-Japan" was unnecessary. They expressed frustration over Japanese people projecting hate, whenever idols mention or take pictures of Dokdo island.

"What's it going to do if they bash him? That's not even the issue here. They sure are confused. He's a Korean showing the Korean map. Why is it wrong?"

"Whenever celebrities take pictures of Dokdo, they always get hate on IG from Japanese people. When they wear Hanboks, they do the same."

"I just searched his name and it's a f**king sight. They're all calling him anti-Japanese and they're claiming Dokdo is theirs. Crazy people."

"The fact that they're making things up like how he's not being considerate of the Japanese members of his group is funny."
