7 Most Popular Male K-pop Artists For January 2023: BTS, Lim Young Woong, More

January 2023 has been a busy year for K-pop and with the month ending, the Korean Business Research Institute has released a brand reputation list.

The list featured different singers and idols, letting fans see who got the most exposure this month. It covered data from December 29, 2022, to January 29, 2023.

Without further ado, here are 7 most popular K-pop male artists this January 2023!

1. BTS

BTS maintained their place on the institute's list, placing at No. 2. The biggest K-pop act in the world garnered a brand reputation index of 7,527,175 for this January.

The group's relevance in the industry is noticeable due to their music, the individuality of the members, and harmony as a group. From music releases to social media posts, BTS's significance remains unshattered.

2. Lim Young Woong

Following BTS, soloist Lim Young Woong entered in a close third place, with a brand reputation index of 7,187,117. The singer was well-recognized this January, due to his good music.

3. ASTRO Cha Eun Woo

ASTRO Cha Eun Woo entered on the list's 10th place, with a brand reputation index of 4,083,568. The idol-actor's popularity was acknowledged because of Eunwoo's activities, especially in his acting career. He is also featured in the cover for Elle Korea's January 2023 issue.

4. NCT

NCT also joined the official list, gathering a brand reputation index of 3,852,310. With a stable fanbase and energetic releases, NCT will undoubtedly bring more to the table this 2023. Regarding their releases, NCT 127 also released "Ay-Yo" on January 31, and their 4th album repackage of the same name.

5. SEVENTEEN

With a brand reputation index score of 3,687,830, SEVENTEEN earned the 18th place on the institute's list. SEVENTEEN's popularity this January rooted from their group activities such as concerts, variety shows, and livestreams. Aside from group events, SEVENTEEN sub-unit BooSeokSoon also trended because of their first upcoming single album.

6. EXO

EXO gathered a score of 3,163,301 in the brand reputation rankings, proving their immense resonance in K-pop. The "Growl" hitmakers also went viral for performing together in "SMTOWN LIVE 2023: SMCU PALACE @KWANGYA."

7. Super Junior

Last but not the least, Super Junior amassed a brand reputation index of 3,108,679. The legendary group made it on the list's No. 25 spot. They also went trended for appearing in the K-pop documentary released by Disney+, titled "Super Junior: The Last Man Standing."
