On February 3, a vlog was uploaded by THE BOYZ members Juyeon and Eric. The content featured the members in their Tokyo visit.
During the vlog, THE BOYZ Hyunjae was seen wearing a Rising Sun flag hat, leading the vlog to be re-edited and posted again.
The Rising Sun symbol is known to be affiliated with Japanese imperialism. To address the issue, IST Entertainment released an official statement, apologizing over the content uploaded.

The agency confirmed that the vlog was edited once again, and that the hat was worn by members without being aware of the Rising Sun pattern.
Furthermore, they assured fans that they will be more careful in the future, in order to prevent similar mishaps from happening.

"Hello. This is IST Entertainment speaking.
In THE BOYZ's latest vlog, we have noticed that the hat member Hyunjae wore embedded a (Rising Sun) pattern. Afterwards, we decided to omit that particular scene and upload the video once again.
The members wore the hat without being aware with its design. The problem also began since we uploaded the video unaware of the symbol. We have decided to take careful measures to ensure that similar mistakes will not be repeated.
We apologize for the inconvenience."
THE BOYZ New Draws Flak for Rude Response to Fans on Bubble Messenger
In other news, THE BOYZ New was criticized due to his response to a fan. On April 12, 2022, the idol went to message fans on the idol messenger app, Bubble. On Nate Pann, a user shared a screenshot of a conversation with New, and the post spread online due to his responses.
In the conversation, a fan wholesomely messaged the idol about marrying him. In response, the idol's reply shocked everyone with its blunt nature.
