'Peak Time' Episode 8 Recap: Groups Enter 'New Song Battle' With Energetic Performances
JTBC's survival program "Peak Time" has now released its eight episode, where groups have entered their third mission "New Song Battle."

'Peak Time' Episode 8: Contestants Collide In 'New Song Battle,' Program Reveals Current Rankings
"Peak Time" is JTBC's new survival show, where different K-pop groups are given a chance to redeem themselves. As opposed to the trainee format, the contestants are composed of groups who are either active, dormant, or disbanded.
For the eight episode of "Peak Time," the contestants competed with newly produced songs and performed it as their own.
On March 29, MC Lee Seung Gi revealed that the eliminations on episode 7 caused the overall rankings to reset. The contestants were also informed that the global votes and benefits that were earned during the program's first phase are no longer included.
With this, groups are now starting fresh with a blank tab, giving participants a chance to give their best and accumulate a new score for the next phase. Episode 8 kickstarted the "New Song Battle," where teams are given a newly produced song, which now belongs to the group.
The top two teams from Episode 7's rankings, have divided all 10 teams into two leagues, A and B. Meanwhile, the five teams within each league, will have to compete against each other.

Episode 8 contained energetic performances from League B, which consists of Team 8:00 (DKB), Team 23:00 (DGNA), Team 15:00 (BLK), Team 13:00 (BAE173), and Team 14:00 (GHOST9).

After their stages, the celebrity judges unveiled their votes. However, the studio audience's votes will be included in the final results which will air on Episode 9.
League B's preliminary results were listed (without audience's votes), and it led Team 8:00 (DKB) and 23:00 (DGNA) to tie, earning 8 votes each.
They were followed by Team 13:00 (BAE173), who garnered 7 votes from the judges. Lastly, Team 14:00 (GHOST9) and Team 15:00 (BLK) both earned 4 votes, tying them in the match.

Furthermore, the episode teased viewers with the team rankings, to which they left the top six unknown and showcased the four-lowest ranking teams. They also announced the global voting will end on April 6 at 9 p.m. KST.
