Where Is Jo Yuri Now? Current Status of IZ*ONE's Former Main Vocalist

Jo Yuri, or simply known as Yuri, is a former IZ*ONE member and current soloist. After IZ*ONE went with their contractual disbandment, here are the current whereabouts of Yuri.

Jo Yuri's Personal Life, 'Idol School' Era, Produce 48 & IZ*ONE Endeavors

Jo Yuri is a South Korean singer, who was born on October 22, 2001, in Busan. Yuri had dreamed of becoming a singer at a young age as early as 14.

This led her to participate in the 13th open audition of JYP Entertainment. However, she didn't make the cut. Afterwards, the young singer joined Stone Music Entertainment, where her audition was successful.

Yuri participated in the famous Mnet survival reality show "Idol School," under Stone Music Entertainment.

Unfortunately, Yuri was placed on the No. 15th spot on its episode 10 and eventually being unable to join the final debut lineup. This certain lineup is popularly known as the fourth-generation group fromis_9.    

In May 2018, Yuri participated on Mnet's "Produce" series titled "Produce 48." Likewise, she has also represented her respective company Stone Music Entertainment. During the survival program, Yuri was commended for her deep and powerful vocals.

Yuri also became a member of a team named "Memory Fabricators," which comprised of Jang Gyuri, Na Go Eun, Yabuki Nako, and LE SSERAFIM Kim Chaewon. The singer earned a total vote count of 294,734 earning a spot on the show's final debut lineup.

 

On August 30, 2018, Yuri finally became a member of the project girl group IZ*ONE. The group officially debuted on October 29, 2018, by dropping their first debut album "Color*Iz" along with title track "La Vie en Rose."

Jo Yuri's dream of becoming a singer finally came true and propelled her endeavors with the group, who became one of the best-selling K-pop girl groups.

Their successful debut was followed by consecutive hit songs such as "Violeta" (2019), "Fiesta" (2020), "Secret Story of the Swan" (2020), and "Panorama" (2020).

On April 29 KST, IZ*ONE officially ended their group activities due to their contractual disbandment. This steered all members to pursue different individual careers, while some teamed up to join groups.

Notable group mentions include Chaewon and Sakura on LE SSERAFIM, as well as Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung on IVE. Meanwhile, Yuri decided to go solo.

After IZ*ONE's disbandment, Jo Yuri joined her new agency WAKEONE Entertainment, after her prior agency Stone Music Entertainment was closed down by CJ ENM due to management re-organization.

Yuri official made her solo debut on October 7, 2021, when she released her first album "GLASSY" and its title track of the same name.

This was followed by her first ever solo comeback and extended play, "Op.22 Y-Waltz: in Major" alongside title track "Love Shhh!" on June 2, 2022.

On October 22, 2022, Yuri released "Op.22 Y-Waltz: in Minor," her second single album that contained the lead single "Loveable."





 

She also became active in her promotions, going through activities like comeback live stages, variety show appearances, OST production, and many more. Apart from her music, Yuri has also her very own vlog content, which she uploads for her fandom GLASSYs to watch.

Yuri is also active on Instagram, where she posts her daily activities.
