Jung Ha Joon Rumored To Debut as Idol– Why Are Some K-Net Unhappy?

After a year, "Jin's lookalike" Ha Joon is rumored to finally debut as an idol this May! In response, a lot of K-pop fans expressed their high anticipation, leaving positive comments such as:

  • "He's a baby but his visuals are crazy."
  • "Wasn't he the guy who is said to look like Jin?"
  • "His future is bright."
  • "Wow, he's handsome. His parents' genes are not going anywhere."
  • "He resembles Park Ji Hoon."

However, there are also netizens who showed skepticism due to his age. If Ha Joon was born in 2009, he's only 14 years old and is currently a middle schooler.

  • "He's a 9th grader in middle school, and (ZICO's boy group)) will debut in May. Isn't he too young?"
  • "It's just that... I think it's going to be hard for him because he's too young... then he will start his social life really early."
  • "Wow, at this rate even a 10-year-old will debut."
  • "Zico takes 'boy next door' too literally.
  • " Put him back to school."

On the flip side, there are also people defending him and saying that there's a double standard happening when a lot of current idols also started as young as 14.

"Come to think of it, the youngest members of SM boy band, Taemin and Jisung debuted when they were in 8th grade. If you look at the girl groups, they debuted when they were in 8th grade as well, so I don't think he's too young."
