SM Entertainment Responds to Concerns About SHINee's Fanmeeting 'Everyday is SHINee DAY: Piece of SHINE'

On May 1, SM Entertainment has officially responded to fans' concerns about SHINee's upcoming fanmeeting.

"Everyday is SHINee DAY: Piece of SHINE" is SHINee's highly anticipated fanmeeting since the group will also be celebrating their 15th anniversary. Shawols are expected to experience interactions with the group and other fun activities.

However, on April 29, SM Entertainment received complaints from Shawols, pointing out their seating arrangements. Their concerns comprised of the seats being all leveled on the ground instead of elevated. Fans voiced out their disappointment online, eventually reaching out to SM Entertainment.

Fans expressed their frustration on a forum:

"Why would they do it at KINTEX? The fact that there's no elevated floor."

"I can't even sleep, I honestly can't believe this, what is this?"

"No, but is it that hard to find concert venues? We're talking about SHINee here, they shouldn't be holding concerts at KINTEX. What are we going to see if we're in KINTEX?"

"Venues without elevated floors are the worst."

"I'm so sad seeing this that I can't sleep."

In response to the concerns, SM Entertainment finally made their announcement.

The agency stated:

"SHINee's 15th debut anniversary plans to engage fans on a face-to-face event after a long while. During the process, we also considered the members' schedules and the data where everyone is available to attend.

We found out that the rental was a venue that could provide accommodations for at least 5,000 attendees on a weekend. Initially, there was already a location planned, but our rental was declined because of the venue's unexpected conditions.

This led us to confirm that the Ilsan Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) was the only place that matched our program. We ask for your understanding that deciding KINTEX as the main venue was out of necessity."

The agency continued that in order to alleviate the concerns of fans, it was reported that elevated seats are to be installed. SM also plans to add a C Stage, moving car, and screens for audiences who are seated at the back.

They also elaborated that the company didn't anticipate fans' issue of being unable to deduct expenses. SM explained that Shinchunoung agency is a non-registered business for income deduction in terms of cultural expenses. They also stated that a follow up will be made for the matter to be resolved, and details will be disclosed before the official fanmeeting.

"To ease some of your concerns, we will update you regarding the contents that are being scheduled, and other factors that are being checked."
