10 Best-Selling K-pop Soloists in 2023's First Half: BTS Jimin, BLACKPINK Jisoo, More!

With K-pop's slew of album releases for the past years, the year 2023 has given fans series of bops of its own. Netizens have come across a record from Circle Chart, which listed out numerous soloists who sold well during the first half of 2023.

Here are the 10 best-selling K-pop soloists of 2023's first half!

1.    BTS Jimin

According to sources, Jimin of BTS has sold out 1,692,436 album copies in 2023's first half. Six months in, Jimin's first official solo album "FACE" gained quite the buzz around fans, who praised the idol's passionate drive in expressing his artistry through music.

2.    BLACKPINK Jisoo

Jisoo of BLACKPINK made it on second place, where she claimed by selling out 1,452,467 album copies of her debut single album "Me."

The album garnered attention for its rosy aesthetic, amplified by Jisoo's alluring performance, who blooms in the title track "FLOWER."

3.    BTS Suga / Agust D

On the third place, BTS Suga claimed the spot with a total of 1,332,087 album copies. The year 2023 was indeed Suga's year since he made waves with his first solo full album "D-DAY." The hype regarding his content was unmatched due to how highly anticipated it was.

Moreover, apart from its title track "Haegeum," the album also included the pre-release song "People Pt. 2," which featured top soloist IU. This also marked Suga's second collab with the singer, following their track "eight" in 2020.

4.    Lee Chan Won

Trot singer Lee Chan Won made it on the No. 4 spot by selling a total of 587,344 album copies. He has also released his first full album "ONE" on February 20.

5.    NCT Taeyong

NCT's leader Taeyong also released his first official album "SHALALA" and its title track of the same name on June 5. Despite its short interval for June due to its release, the album still managed to sell 494,249 copies, highlighting Taeyong's impressive impact. With this figure, Taeyong has also rounded the top five.

6.    EXO Kai

Kai managed to sell out 247,800 album copies for 2023's first half. On March 31, Kai released his third mini album "Rover" and its title track of the same name.

7.    Kang Daniel

Within the six-month timeframe of 2023, Kang Daniel made it on the seventh place by selling out 148,455 copies. The soloist and KONNECT CEO released his fourth mini album "REALIEZ" on June 19.  

8.    SHINee Onew

Onew of SHINee made it on the No. 8 spot with a total of 139,289 album copies. The idol also released his first full-length album "Circle" on March 6, giving Shawols another certified bop!

9.    Choi Yena

Choi Yena made it on No. 9 with a selling figure of 124,490 album copies with second single album "HATE XX."

10.  SHINee Key

Key concluded the top 10 with a figure of 121,412 album copies. This 2023, Key released his repackaged album "Killer" on February 13.
