ITZY Dishes on Album 'KILL MY DOUBT': Concept, Title Track, Production, More!
On July 31 at 6 p.m. KST, ITZY will drop their mini album "KILL MY DOUBT" alongside the MV for title track "CAKE."However, the group has unveiled their thoughts on their newest album prior to its release and chatted about its content.
The group was asked about the meaning of "KILL MY DOUBT," to which member Ryujin elaborated the strength to overcome worries and believe in oneself.
Ryujin: "Like most people normally have, everyone has their own doubts and insecurities. ITZY wants to convey how having love and trust on ourselves are only possible when we face those anxieties head on. We wanted to tell everyone they're doing great and will do well in the future."
Afterwards, they were asked about the album's distinct identity, and how it would compare to ITZY's past releases. Member Lia then explained how "KILL MY DOUBT" would bring each of the members' honest thoughts while displaying musical diversity.

Lia: "In my opinion, our sincere feelings will be delivered on the album "KILL MY DOUBT.' This is an album that will contain different types of emotions, since its tracklist will display diversity that's embedded with the five members' charms. That's why I think 'KILL MY DOUBT' is unique."
ITZY was then asked about the album's title track "CAKE," which is their first title track to be associated with renowned Korean duo producers Black Eyed Pilseung, composed of Choi Kyu Sung and Rado. Leader Yeji then recalled how it felt working with the duo.
Yeji: "I'm actually amazed on how we received a song (from Black Eyed Pilseung). I personally feel that 'CAKE' is definitely an ITZY song thanks to them, who gave us guidance while producing the track."
"We also got insights on how to express it freely in our style, and they even visited the set during our music video recording. We are grateful for them!"
Maknae Yuna then further discussed the charming parts of "CAKE."
Yuna: "Our song 'CAKE' will have so many charming key points. But among those factors, I think that the main highlight is the melody since it cools off the heat. The melody and lyrics are very pleasant when you listen to it!"
Furthermore, ITZY was asked about what type of cake that would define their title track. Ryujin and Chaeryoung responded how a light serve will accurately describe their song.
Ryujin: "I think 'CAKE' would fit as a 'cheesecake-like' song. I picked this since it goes well with any beverage and it's a song that can satisfy your expectations whenever you listen to it. It can even refresh you on a hot weather or while driving."
Chaeryoung: "I wish that 'CAKE' would be a song that can be enjoyed locally and internationally. Just like the refreshing fruit cake with whipped cream, I hope 'CAKE' will be a song that everyone will never get tired of listening."
